The popular series “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir” has built an extensive animated universe encompassing six seasons, a movie, special episodes, spin-offs, and more. This year’s Comic-Con in San Diego brought exciting news about the animation world, but “Miraculous” had some surprises up its sleeve too. Following a panel discussing the property, fresh insights have emerged about where the animated franchise might head next and what plot developments could unfold. In a surprising disclosure, the CEO of Miraculous Corp hinted at a possible plot twist in the story of Ladybug and Cat Noir that fans eagerly await to learn.
At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Andy Yeatman shared insights about the franchise during a panel, hinting at potential developments for the crime-fighting team of Cat Noir and Ladybug. Fans eager to find out their real identities might need to be patient as Yeatman suggested that it could take “years” before they uncover each other’s secret identities. Previously in the series, they have discovered who is hiding behind the masks, only to forget and return to normal afterwards. If you were hoping for a stronger connection between these characters in terms of identity revelation, it seems like you’ll have to wait quite a while.
What Else For Miraculous?
In addition to subtly suggesting the character’s eventual unmasking which is still years off, Yeatman announced that the seventh series of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir is now being scripted. Fans are eagerly anticipating the remainder of season six in the meantime. Moreover, the Miraculous Corps intends to introduce many more teenage superheroes down the line, a move that seems logical given the numerous spin-offs slated for release in the coming years. Although it hasn’t been officially uploaded yet, the San Diego Comic-Con panel showcased a sneak peek from the upcoming ninth episode of season six titled “Mister Agreste.
The panel additionally discussed “Miraculous: Stellar Force”, a spin-off series which will serve as the initial anime within the franchise. They confirmed that the show will primarily employ 2D animation, and provided a sneak peek behind the scenes of this upcoming anime, emphasizing some of the new characters set to debut. The special for “Stellar Force” is scheduled to release later in the year, with the full series anticipated in 2027.
Earlier, Yeatman expressed his thoughts about the Miraculous anime project by stating, “In ‘Stellar Force,’ we’re broadening the Miraculous universe in daring and thrilling ways with a brand-new crew, setting, and mythology. Yet, we remain faithful to the principles that catapulted Miraculous into a worldwide sensation. The diverse and relatable heroes in this series will resonate with kids globally as they grapple with friendship, identity, and teamwork while tackling cosmic drama. With its mix of action, humor, and memorable characters, ‘Stellar Force’ offers a novel perspective on heroism and stands primed to become an instant classic.
