Good news for fans: the BBC has announced that ‘Death in Paradise‘ will be back for two more seasons, as many expected.
I’m so thrilled to hear the show is confirmed to continue all the way through season 17! And to top it off, we’re getting two more Christmas specials – one in 2026 and another in 2027! It’s amazing news for fans like me.
Production on the latest installments started this week in Guadeloupe, a Caribbean island of France. Don Gilet will be back as DI Mervin Wilson, along with the rest of the main cast.
Don Warrington, Shantol Jackson, Shaquille Ali-Yebuah, Catherine Garton, and Élizabeth Bourgine—who play Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, DS Naomi Thomas, Officer Sebastian Rose, Sergeant Mattie Fletcher, and Catherine Bordey, respectively—will all return for the new season. More guest stars and details about the cases will be revealed soon.

Lindsay Salt, head of drama at the BBC, announced that the popular show Death in Paradise will continue for two more series, plus Christmas specials. She stated the BBC is very proud to be the home of the show, which is a hit with audiences around the world, and continues to grow in popularity.
Tim Key, an executive producer at Red Planet Pictures, also shared, “We’re still very proud of the show and everyone who works on it, and we’re thrilled that viewers continue to enjoy it as much as we do.”
We’re thrilled with how everyone reacted to our recent series and are excited to begin a new season! We have something really amazing planned for our 16th season, and we’re starting with a big surprise in our Christmas special. Stay tuned for more details…
