Law Roach is ready to hold court at the 2026 Met Gala.
Law Roach, the stylist known for working with stars like Zendaya, Ariana Grande, and Céline Dion, shared his process for getting clients ready for major events, such as Anna Wintour’s annual Met Gala.
According to Law, the process typically begins five months beforehand. It starts when the designer confirms the client’s preferences, after which Law discusses ideas with the client and then shares them with their team.
After the concept for a style is created, the stylist and his team share it with a fashion brand. The designer then uses that idea, along with the brand’s existing aesthetic and the client’s preferences, to create the final look.
However, for the first Monday in May, Law stressed that this client is receiving even greater attention.
He went on to say that it’s important to always begin by considering the client. After all, they’re the ones who will ultimately be wearing the final result, so getting their feedback is key.
Indeed, Law is well-versed with the pressure to make a fashion statement at the Met Gala.

He explained to TopMob News that the event involves a lot of preparation and stress, but the actual performance lasts only about five minutes. He feels it’s a significant amount of effort for a very short reward.
But his strong bond with Zendaya allows the pair to envision a wide range of ideas.
He explained their connection was incredibly close, so much so that it could manifest in many different ways – sometimes subtle, sometimes grand. He added that it’s impossible to predict how their partnership will evolve.
Plus, Law is confident that fashion is his life’s calling.
He joked that he might have become a dentist if he hadn’t gotten into fashion. He explained that fashion lets you express yourself and explore different identities, even allowing you to get lost in your imagination. He believes it’s a key part of his happiness.
For a look back at Zendaya’s best Met Gala looks over the years, keep reading…

Zendaya first attended the Met Gala in 2015, wearing a unique dress designed by Fausto Puglisi. The dress featured a sun design and fit the gala’s theme that year, which was focused on Chinese art and culture.
The actress from Euphoria only tried on the dress a couple of times before wearing it to the event in New York City. She later told People magazine that the night, while stressful, was ultimately a great experience.

For the 2016 Met Gala, which had a “Manus x Machina” theme, Zendaya wore a stylish bronze one-shoulder dress by Michael Kors and completed her look with a trendy mushroom-cut wig.

Zendaya stunned in a floral Dolce & Gabbana dress at the 2017 event, which celebrated the work of designer Rei Kawakubo and her brand, Comme des Garçons.
Zendaya’s outfit was so striking that it caught the attention of Rihanna, who shared a photo of the Challengers star on Instagram and called her a “brown goddess.”

In 2018, the former Disney Channel star had a striking fashion moment at the Met Gala. She wore a silver Atelier Versace gown inspired by medieval armor, complete with chainmail details, perfectly fitting the event’s theme of “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” She finished the look with metallic Jimmy Choo heels and a red bob hairstyle reminiscent of Joan of Arc.
Zendaya has said this was one of her all-time favorite red carpet outfits, describing the feeling as powerful – like a warrior, as she told InStyle in October 2021.
Many people loved the outfit, including her Spider-Man co-star, Tom Holland. They began dating in 2021 and later announced their engagement in 2025. At the time, Holland praised the look on Instagram, writing, “All hail the queen. Killing it mate.”

In 2019, Zendaya embraced her early Disney days and looked like a true princess at the Met Gala. The event’s theme was “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” so she made a grand entrance in a stunning, light-up blue Tommy Hilfiger gown. Completing the fairytale look, her stylist Law Roach accompanied her, dressed as her fairy godmother.
Although Zendaya’s outfit was famous, she admitted getting ready for the red carpet was actually quite stressful.
She told British Vogue that the Met Gala outfit was really stressful. It was a dress with electronic components, and when she arrived, it wasn’t functioning as expected. It was designed to gradually increase in intensity, but it didn’t quite work that way.

Alongside Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth, the star of Challengers impressed at the 2024 event with two stunning red carpet outfits. Her first look, shown in the photo, was a darkly romantic, garden-inspired design by John Galiano, perfectly matching the event’s “Garden of Time” theme for Sleeping Beauties.
It certainly made her return to the ball after five years all the more exciting.

Everyone was talking about Zendaya’s stunning Met Gala appearance! She made a grand entrance as one of the last guests, surprising fans with a second incredible outfit by John Galliano, complete with a beautiful rose in her hair. It was a moment worth rewatching!
