Three classic Game Boy Color games, unavailable for nearly three decades, are being re-released in 2027. To play them, you’ll need a working Game Boy Color system or a compatible device. This is a limited-edition release with a short pre-order period. After the pre-order window closes, the games will only be available from resellers, likely at inflated prices.
Okay, so I just saw that Limited Run Games is doing pre-orders for a Rugrats collection on Game Boy Color! It’s got three games: The Rugrats Movie, Rugrats in Paris: The Movie, and Rugrats Time Travelers. You can grab all three for $50. They don’t have a solid release date yet, but they’re saying it should ship sometime in the first three months of 2027. It’s a bit of a wait, but I’m definitely tempted!

Very Nostalgic Games From 1998 to 2000
If you’re not familiar, this collection includes the original Rugrats Movie game, first released for Game Boy in 1998 and then for Game Boy Color in 1999. Both versions of this classic game, based on the 1998 movie, are included. It was the very first Rugrats video game and originally received a score of 62 on GameRankings.
In 1999, Rugrats: Time Travelers was released as a game only available on the Game Boy Color. Unlike the first Rugrats game, which was based on the movie, this one had an original story. When it launched, the game—also created by the same developers as the first—received a score of 56 on GameRankings.

Finally, there’s Rugrats in Paris: The Movie, which came out in 2000, coinciding with the film’s release. Unlike the previous two games that were only available on Game Boy, this one was also released for N64, PlayStation, and PC. The game’s development varied depending on the platform, with Software Creations, Avalanche Software, and KnowWonder each handling different versions. It received a score of 69 on GameRankings upon its release.
This physical copy only includes a special guide booklet. Plus, there’s no limit to how many you can buy, so you don’t need to pre-order or worry about it selling out quickly – you have plenty of time to decide.
