PS5 Players Miss Out as SNK Adds Rollback Netcode to Classic Fighter

Arghhh!

SNK’s fighting game, World Heroes Perfect, originally released in 1995 and considered the definitive version of the series, is being re-released with improved online play thanks to rollback netcode. However, this updated version won’t be available on PlayStation 5.

You can already buy all four games in the series on the PlayStation Store through Hamster’s ACA Neo Geo collection, but this new release adds updated online multiplayer with lobbies that can hold up to nine players.

Here’s a quote from the blurb:

The classic 1995 arcade fighting game, World Heroes Perfect, is now available on Steam! Known as the best game in the World Heroes series and loved by many fans, it’s back with improvements like a Practice Mode and online battles. These online matches are now smoother than ever thanks to new technology called rollback netcode, while the original look and feel of the game remain the same.

This game is the third in the Neo Geo Premium Selection series, coming after Real Bout: Fatal Fury 2 and Kizuna Encounter. Currently, all of these games are only available on PC.

Besides the online modes, this updated version of World Heroes Perfect will include a training mode, letting you practice and improve your fighting skills.

The game will include all the classic characters, and even Zeus – who was previously only available in the version for SEGA Saturn – will be playable.

Let’s brainstorm ways to get SNK to release these games on the PlayStation 5! There’s definitely a demand for them on consoles, and crossplay would make it even better. Share your ideas in the comments!
