Nick Cannon Details Dating Rules for His & Mariah Carey’s Twins

Nick Cannon isn’t letting his daughter go wild when it comes to dating.

Nick Cannon, who has 15-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with his ex-wife Mariah Carey, recently shared that he’s more protective of his daughter when it comes to dating than he is of his son.

I have to say, I’m so proud of my son! He’s been seeing someone, and honestly, I’ve been totally supportive. I actually encouraged him to pursue it, as I want him to be happy. I shared this on the latest episode of The TMZ Podcast – it’s been great seeing him explore things.

When asked if he treats his daughter Monroe the same way, the comedian answered directly, “No, not at all.”

Nick acknowledged it’s definitely a double standard, explaining he often gets in trouble for being very direct. However, he believes raising a son is different than raising a daughter, and that makes a difference in how he approaches things.

Nick, who is a father to ten children with five different women, emphasized that he’s particularly protective of his daughter. He explained that he feels a strong need to shield her from harmful people and negative influences, as there are individuals he wants to keep her away from.

The host of The Masked Singer made it clear he’ll step in to defend her against anyone who causes trouble.

Nick made it very clear that he would react with extreme violence if anyone harmed his daughter, stating he’d likely end up in jail as a result. He described it as his biggest fear, saying he’d be imprisoned for life if anyone laid a hand on her.

The former All That star explained he’s much less worried about his oldest son compared to his twins. When asked if he feared people might be interested in Moroccan for his money, he joked, “Not at all! He’s got plenty of his own – his mother is Mariah Carey!”

Although he currently has a firm grip on the situation with Monroe, the rapper said he’s willing to consider adjustments later on.

He said they had an agreement: if she could tell him what was planned for certain dates, she would be allowed to go. He added that her twin brother could join her, explaining that’s his approach to things. However, he firmly stated she wouldn’t be meeting anyone alone, especially someone he disapproved of.

She shared that their lives have been transformed, and that she feels her baby, Zen, is present in every moment. She believes his spirit was with them during the birth and continues to watch over them, sending her signs each day. She cherishes the memory of that morning and will hold it close forever.

I’ll never forget hearing Nick say ‘It’s a girl,’ and seeing all our memories reflected in his expression. I’ll also cherish the sound of our baby’s first cry and feeling her tiny heartbeat next to mine. Our sweet little girl is a wonderful surprise! We love you so much, Halo Marie Cannon!
