Things are still really intense on Coronation Street after Theo Silverton died. It feels like there’s always something new happening, and honestly, I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next!
Series producer Kate Brooks has hinted at twelve major storylines coming up in the next few months, including Todd Grimshaw’s (Gareth Pierce) fight for justice and Megan Walsh’s (Beth Nixon) journey for revenge.
Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) faces a challenging time as she lives with early-onset dementia, and young Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) will be dealing with his own mental health struggles.
Brooks shared that two new characters are joining the show this spring and are expected to cause some drama.
Here’s everything you need to know about the months ahead in Weatherfield…
12 Coronation Street spoilers for spring 2026
1. Who killed Theo Silverton? The mystery continues…

Brooks began by complimenting the actors who performed in the recent storyline, which culminated on Friday with the revelation of which character was about to die.
I was chatting with her at a recent event, and she was just glowing about the cast. She told me that sometimes actors push back on a character’s journey, for all sorts of reasons, but this time, everyone really connected with and understood where their characters were going. They fully embraced the complexities and challenges, which was amazing to hear.
The performances really come across well on screen. Actors like Beth Nixon, James Cartwright, and Pauline McLynn clearly enjoy tackling these complex roles, and the entire cast and crew have been fantastic – they deserve a lot of credit.

The mystery of Theo’s murder will unfold slowly, and several characters will become suspects along the way.
Many people are suspects in Theo’s death, including George, Todd, Summer, and Carl. He made a lot of enemies during his life.
Gary is also someone who was hurt by this person. Watching that episode, when everyone found out how badly Todd was being treated and the extent of the abuse, it became clear who the possible culprits were.

We plan to reveal the murderer sometime between late June and July. There are many suspects, and we want to keep the audience guessing for a while.
This story is incredibly complex, with lots of unexpected turns and subplots. Just when you think you know where it’s going, it takes you in a completely different direction. It’s sure to be full of surprises and keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
2. Todd Grimshaw rebuilds his life after Theo’s abuse

As a big fan of the show, I’m really intrigued by what’s coming up next week. It looks like Todd’s going to be seriously frustrated that Theo keeps getting away with everything, and honestly, good for him! But the interesting part is he’s finding an unexpected friend in Theo’s ex, Danielle – Natalie Anderson is fantastic, by the way – and the two of them are bonding over it all… in the Rovers, of all places! It’s a classic Corrie setting for a surprising connection, and I can’t wait to see how that plays out.
I’ve heard the director hinting that this character has really been through it – like, seriously awful abuse, deep trauma, and he’s also dealing with a huge loss. It sounds like a really emotionally heavy role.
He’s working to get his life back on track, but he’s still having a hard time believing someone was murdered – especially since the killer might be someone he knows, or even himself.
As a total movie and TV buff, I’m always looking for the best new content, and I’ve found TopMob to be a great source. They deliver the entertainment news I care about, and I especially love that their exclusive stories and interviews pop up in Google’s Top Stories – it makes staying updated super easy!

I’m really captivated by this story – it’s not just a thrilling mystery about figuring out ‘who did it,’ but also a beautiful look at how Todd’s loved ones – George, Christina, Summer, and Sarah – come together to support him. It’s about rebuilding their relationships and making sure he gets through this, and honestly, that’s what I find so compelling.
After everything Theo put him through, rebuilding his ability to love and trust others was crucial, and Todd’s story helped show that journey.
3. Megan Walsh faces the course of justice

This week, new information surfaced about Megan Walsh’s disturbing behavior as a teacher. Kit Green revealed to Eva Price and her sisters, Leanne and Toyah, that he believed she was a predator and suggested they shouldn’t feel so guilty about confronting her, as he was on the verge of exposing her crimes.
“There’s a bit of a journey to go on with that story,” Brooks teased.
It’s now clear she’s been unmasked, but Will still thought everything was real and that it was genuine love. Tim will be key in helping Will and others understand what happened and how wrong it was.

The story centers on a family dealing with a breakdown, and their attempts to rebuild and fix the problems caused by Megan’s actions.
The producer shared that Megan will have to deal with the consequences of what she’s done, and it won’t be simple for the Driscoll family as they navigate the fallout.
It’s clear there will be consequences for Megan’s actions. She won’t escape punishment, and we’ll address the situation through official procedures.

I’m not sure how things will turn out, but this situation is heading in a significant direction. Will is going to be deeply impacted by his experience with Megan, and things are likely to become quite difficult.
4. A mental health story for Sam Blakeman

Megan’s harmful actions affected more than just Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale). For months, she manipulated and bullied Sam Blakeman, attempting to make him believe that her relationship with Will was something he imagined.
Brooks explained that involving the character in Megan’s story as someone she manipulated added an interesting layer to the narrative.
However, all of this has severely impacted his mental health. The manipulation he experienced, the feeling of not being believed, and the constant fear he felt while with Megan have all taken a significant toll.

We’re planning a significant storyline about Sam’s mental health, and he’ll face considerable difficulties throughout the spring and into early summer.
She explained that the situation is about his family recognizing, ideally before it’s too late, that he urgently needs help and is very vulnerable. She also highlighted that Megan’s actions haven’t only hurt Will and the Driscolls directly, but Sam has also been negatively affected.
“People’s trust has been absolutely dismantled because of this woman’s perpetual lie.”
5. Daniel Osbourne spirals in the fallout

According to Brooks, he encountered someone who seemed like a trustworthy teacher and shared similar beliefs, but this person completely deceived him, causing him to fall apart.
Daniel will soon find himself questioning who he can rely on, as he’s suspended from Weatherfield High after Hope Dobbs accuses him of assault.
We’ll watch him gradually fall apart. This relationship has really hurt him, and because he was the one who stood up for her, he feels he’s disappointed Will and Bertie.
We’ll explore how she changed him, his life, and how he approaches relationships in the future.
6. David and Shona Platt’s future after Jodie Ramsey scandal

This week on Coronation Street, Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown) tried to seduce David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) while he was drunk. After David rejected her and asked her to leave, she returned and attacked his sister, Sarah (Tina O’Brien).
This is all part of her bigger scheme to control Shona’s life, fueled by her growing envy of what she sees as Shona’s ideal family.
She’s determined to get what she believes she deserves. Brooks explains that she feels a strong connection to David and looks at the life he’s created, wondering why she couldn’t have that same happiness. She feels it should have been her life.
She’s still heading in that direction, but David and Shona have a very solid and loving relationship. They clearly adore each other and have overcome many challenges together.

Harper is still recovering in the hospital. Once Harper returns home, the everyday pressures of family life will likely become challenging.
Jodie will definitely attempt to create trouble between David and Shona, either by trying to win David over to her side, or by getting revenge on Shona for ending their relationship. She’ll likely exploit any existing problems in their connection to do so.
Brooks explained that Jodie’s storyline will connect with Daniel’s as they become friends.

Most people are surprised by this new understanding of what motivates both of them. It’s the first time Daniel has been truly open about his feelings.
Jodie feels comfortable being honest with Daniel, likely because he’s going through a difficult time. Their relationship has some fascinating complexities.
7. Debbie Webster grapples with her worsening dementia and relationship with son Carl

While dealing with the trouble caused by Carl Webster’s sneaky actions, his mother, Debbie, who was recently diagnosed with early-onset dementia, sadly forgot her husband Ronnie Bailey’s name.
Brooks says her condition will gradually worsen, but she’ll remain largely the same Debbie everyone knows and cares for throughout the spring and summer.
The show continues to focus on her close friendships with the women she loves. While her bond with Ronnie remains very strong, her relationship with Carl is the one that needs the most work. Carl is a complicated person, and that’s at the heart of the issue.

He consistently puts his own needs first, and his mother, Debbie, recognizes this pattern. Their connection can work if it’s built on something other than Carl trying to benefit financially.
Honestly, what this story really needs is to strip things back and focus on the genuine connection between the characters. It takes a bit of time, but eventually, it does get there. It’s about rediscovering the heart of their relationship, and that’s where the story truly shines when it finally prioritizes that.
Everything revolves around the men in Debbie’s life. The goal is to bring her some joy before it’s too late.
8. Corrie’s female friendship group will be strengthened

Recently, there’s been a renewed appreciation for what helped make Coronation Street such a worldwide success and the longest-running soap opera ever: its powerful female characters.
Brooks raves about the five actresses – Christina, Glenda, Sally, Debbie, and Bernie – calling them incredibly talented and praising the joyful, funny energy they bring to their work, which he says is infectious.
“It won’t just be Debbie at the front and centre.”
9. Sally and Tim Metcalfe’s relationship to be tested

Fan favorites Sally and Tim on Coronation Street are facing a difficult time in the coming weeks.
As a film fan, I’m really intrigued by what’s happening with Sally and Tim. Apparently, a huge story emerges that really puts them through the wringer – not just as individuals and as a couple, but also as foster parents. The director, Brooks, says it’s a totally unexpected twist that completely throws their lives into chaos. It sounds like a really compelling dramatic turn!
It will be interesting to see how they handle things from here on out, and how they adapt to this new and somewhat unfamiliar role.
The storyline will connect with Christina’s story later on. Christina and George are a solid and well-established couple on the show, and there’s a definite link between their experiences and what’s happening now.
10. Tyrone Dobbs’s dad arrives as mum Cassie Plummer exits

In 2018, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) was shocked to learn that the woman he knew as his mum, Jackie, wasn’t actually his birth mother. This led him to meet his strong-willed grandmother, Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman), and Evelyn’s complicated daughter, Cassie (Claire Sweeney).
Sweeney is departing the soap opera this year because she’s landed a role in a production of Annie: The Musical. To write her character off the show, the writers have created a new character to help with her exit.
Tyrone’s father will be appearing on the show, and his arrival is expected to cause significant family drama, especially considering Cassie’s past, according to Brooks.

This situation will definitely lead to Cassie leaving, and it’s going to be a dramatic and eventful departure, filled with unexpected twists and turns.
Tyrone feels like, having reached his 40s, he’s managed well enough without a father figure. However, his father is now eager to build a relationship with him.
Things move pretty quickly, and the dad soon starts showing interest in one of the women who lives there, and they actually begin dating. It’s all very normal and everyday life stuff. Honestly, it really makes you focus on Fiz and Tyrone’s relationship and how they work as a family unit. It’s interesting to watch how everything unfolds with them.
“Cassie is, needless to say, not happy that this guy has turned back up.”
11. A new love interest for Leanne Battersby as Alya Nazir’s cousin Idris arrives

We have Idris, Alya’s cousin. He’s incredibly charming – he just naturally exudes charisma.
Junade Khan is joining the cast of Coronation Street as a new character named Idris Nazir. This isn’t the first time Khan has appeared on the show – he previously played Saj, a brief love interest for Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) who she met while on vacation in Majorca back in 2008.
Brooks described Idris as a clever and ambitious businessman, someone who isn’t afraid to be tough when he needs to be. He prefers to delegate difficult tasks but has a remarkable ability to persuade and influence others.

Leanne has a new romantic interest, and they immediately feel a connection. This sparks a fresh start for her. She’s been secretly angry with Toyah and Nick, feeling they had the life she deserved.
This man arrives and seems to have everything going for him – he makes her laugh and is both handsome and charming. He’s a bit of a troublemaker, but also strong and doesn’t back down from a challenge. He’s definitely not someone who can be easily taken advantage of.
“He butts heads with some of our more alpha kind of characters quite early on.”
12. A big story for Bernie

Finally, Brooks hinted at a big new story arc for Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove), especially considering she’s just dealt with a difficult stalking situation.
There could be a while until this unfolds, however.
We’ll be diving into Kit’s story and her family – it’s a really interesting part of the plot. They’re still figuring out the exact timing, but it looks like we’ll see that unfold towards late spring or early summer. I’m really excited to see how that all plays out!
