After 11 years, the popular action-fantasy series Black Clover by Yuki Tabata is nearing its conclusion. The manga began its final story arc in 2022 and moved to a quarterly release schedule in Shueisha’s Jump GIGA magazine. Since then, it has published two to three chapters per quarter, focusing on the climactic battle against Lucius Zogratis and the resulting devastation in the Clover Kingdom. The latest three chapters were released on April 30th, 2026, as part of the Spring 2026 issue of Jump GIGA, and continued the story following the battle against Lucius Zogratis.
The story concluded with Asta defeating Yuno, earning the title of Wizard King, and finally bringing peace to the Clover Kingdom. After the conflict, each character began to pursue their own goals and dreams. The finale also confirmed romantic relationships that fans had hoped for, most notably between Yami and Charlotte, which had been hinted at throughout the series. Interestingly, Asta remained single, which sparked a new competitive dynamic between Noelle and Mimosa, both of whom are interested in him.
Black Clover Leaves Noelle’s and Mimosa’s Rivalry Unresolved
It’s always been clear that both Noelle and Mimosa have romantic feelings for Asta. Asta’s determination inspired many, including these two girls, giving them the confidence to become strong Magic Knights. They’ve also consistently supported Asta, with Mimosa’s healing magic proving especially valuable. Throughout the series, fans have debated which girl would ultimately end up with him.
Asta was so determined to become the Wizard King that he didn’t realize how Noelle and Mimosa felt about him. He’d also always dreamed of marrying Sister Lily, which wasn’t realistic. Once he did become Wizard King, he was too busy for romance. Despite this, both Noelle and Mimosa were determined to win his heart, and they openly acknowledged their competition. Ultimately, the story doesn’t reveal who Asta will end up with, leaving their rivalry unresolved.
The last book in the series will be released on August 4, 2026, and it will include bonus artwork and details about the characters. Fans hoping to find out who Asta ultimately couples with might get answers in the extras, but the author, Tabata, may not definitively resolve the romantic pairings at all.
