Okay, so after that huge week on Coronation Street with all the flashbacks, things are really tough for Todd Grimshaw. He’s seriously struggling with the fact that his ex, Theo, who was awful to him, is now dead. It’s a heavy storyline, and Gareth Pierce is really bringing the emotional weight of it all.
We first saw hints of this character’s death in a brief scene set in the future back in February. Last week’s episodes then showed a series of flashbacks revealing what was happening to those nearing death while the rest of the community celebrated the wedding of Connor and Swain in Underworld.
The other potential victims were, Megan Walsh, Jodie Ramsey, Carl Webster and Maggie Driscoll.
Theo was spotted running after Todd through the streets of Weatherfield, but managed to get away before reaching the police station. He then used a public phone to call Christina Boyd, telling her he was heading home, though he knew it would be a while before he actually arrived.
Just before Betsy Swain discovered Theo’s body outside the shop, he’d been having a heated argument with Summer Spellman inside their flat.

Was she responsible for pushing him off the scaffolding around the building? George seemed suspicious too, especially since he’d quickly changed his clothes.
The episode quickly showed Todd and their neighbors finding Theo’s body before the police got there. Kit Green, played by Jacob Roberts, was very concerned and wondered if Theo had died by suicide.

Mary Taylor first suspected foul play, especially as Summer seemed to be hiding something. Meanwhile, Kit questioned Gary Windass about the damaged van belonging to Theo, trying to find out if he knew anything about what happened to it.
We know Gary caused the damage, but did he actually kill Theo?

Todd was back at their apartment when a package arrived – their wedding photo album. Even though Theo had hurt him deeply, seeing the photos made Todd think about what their life could have been like if things had turned out differently.
Todd explained that seeing the photos felt upsetting because they were memories he wished he and his partner had experienced together.
The show’s producer, Kate Brooks, has hinted that solving the mystery will take a while – we won’t discover who the killer is until June or July. In the meantime, several potential suspects have been introduced, and the latest episodes showed them all acting suspiciously and trying to hide something.
So… who was it?
Who killed Theo Silverton in Coronation Street? Suspects and their motives

- George Shuttleworth: George was seen scrolling through the Weatherfield Gazette’s website, looking directly at the page concerning a death on the cobbles.
- Danielle Silverton: Theo’s ex-wife, played by Emmerdale star Natalie Anderson, placed a bouquet of flowers at the scene of the crime and turned around to check whether anyone was watching. Could she still be angry that their marriage ended so sour?
- Gary Windass: Gary frantically deleted CCTV footage of him breaking up Theo’s van. Let’s not forget, Gary has killed before – back in 2019, he saw off dodgy loanshark Rick Neelan.
- Summer Spellman: In a very Gen-Z way, Summer had journaled her hatred for Theo and was seen flicking through the pages which detailed her desire for him to get his comeuppance.
- Todd Grimshaw: Would Todd kill his husband? Returning to the flat they once shared, Todd was haunted by reminders of their troubled past.
You can watch Coronation Street this Friday at 8:30 PM on ITV1. The episode will be available to stream on ITVX after it airs on television.
