Coronation Street newcomers confirmed as Game of Thrones actor joins the cast for major new storylines

Two new faces are joining the cast of Coronation Street! Actors known from Game of Thrones and EastEnders will be appearing in future episodes.

Tyrone Dobbs, played by Alan Halsall, will soon be seeing his long-lost father again. Ian Burfield, known from shows like EastEnders and The Bill, has been cast as Ross, according to The Sun.

Kate Brooks, who leads the team behind Coronation Street, has revealed that Ross will be central to some dramatic upcoming storylines, particularly surrounding the departure of Tyrone’s mother, Cassie, played by Claire Sweeney.

Tyrone’s father is joining the show and is expected to cause family conflict, especially considering Cassie’s past, according to Brooks.

This situation will definitely lead to Cassie leaving, and it’s going to be a dramatic and eventful departure, filled with unexpected twists and turns.

Tyrone feels like, at his age, he’s managed fine without a father figure. However, his father is really eager to build a relationship with him.

The father figure quickly becomes attracted to one of the residents, and a relationship begins to develop. It’s a very ordinary, everyday situation that really highlights the connection between Fiz and Tyrone as a couple and how they function as a family.

“Cassie is, needless to say, not happy that this guy has turned back up.”

Junade Khan, known for his role as a Dothraki warrior in Game of Thrones, is joining the cast of Coronation Street. He’ll be playing Idris Nazir, a new character who catches the eye of Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).

Brooks described the character, who is also Alya’s cousin, as a clever businessman with a slightly ruthless side. He prefers to stay clean and avoid getting directly involved, but he’s incredibly charming and persuasive.

Leanne has a new romantic interest, and they immediately feel a connection. This sparks a positive change in her life. She’s been secretly upset with Toyah and Nick, feeling like she deserved the life they have.

This man appears and immediately captures her attention. He’s charming and makes her laugh, plus he’s attractive. He’s a bit of a troublemaker, but also strong and won’t be taken advantage of.

“He butts heads with some of our more alpha kind of characters quite early on.”

You can watch Coronation Street this Friday at 8:30 PM on ITV1. The episode will be available on ITVX after it airs on television.
