The top-selling game on Steam is now officially certified to work great on the Steam Deck. This means Valve has thoroughly tested it and confirmed it plays smoothly from beginning to end, using the Deck’s screen and controls. However, there have been concerns lately about the verification process, with some problematic games still receiving the “Verified” badge. So, while a game being Steam Deck Verified is a good sign, it doesn’t guarantee a flawless experience.
Currently, the top-selling game on the Steam charts is Far Far West, a new first-person shooter that supports 1-4 players in co-op mode. It’s outperforming popular titles like Windrose, Gamble With Your Friends, Forza Horizon 6, Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era, Pragmata, and Crimson Desert. Developed by Evil Raptor and published by Fireshine Games, Far Far West launched on April 28th and has quickly become a hit with players, earning an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam – meaning 97% of over 9,500 user reviews are positive. This success is particularly notable because the developer’s previous games, Pumpkin Jack (2020) and Akimbot (2024), didn’t achieve the same level of popularity or critical acclaim. Remarkably, Far Far West is achieving all of this while still in early access.

The PC game is now verified for the Steam Deck and costs $20, but it’s currently 10% off for the next 24 hours, bringing the price down to $17.99. As of today, the game has sold 500,000 copies on Steam – more than the studio’s previous two games combined.
Okay, so everyone’s asking about a release date, and honestly, we just don’t know yet. As for Steam Deck support, that’s still up in the air too. It’s not a perfect fit for the Deck, but surprisingly, it actually runs pretty well! It’s not as demanding as those huge AAA games, so the Deck can handle it without too much trouble.
