Dolly Parton is still taking a break from her 9 to 5.
The 80-year-old wants to reassure her fans that she’s just like an old car – she needs a little work to get going again, and she means that quite literally, given her recent health issues.
Dolly shared an update on Instagram on May 4th, saying she’s doing well with her treatment and getting better each day. However, she explained it will take some time before she’s ready to perform again, as some of the medication makes her feel a little dizzy – ‘swimmy-headed,’ as her grandmother used to describe it.
She described it as being like a classic car – one that, with a little work, could be even better than new.
Dolly mentioned her history of kidney stones, joking that doctors have removed more stones from her than a rock quarry in Tennessee. She also explained that dealing with this issue for the past three years has really affected her health, leaving her immune and digestive systems out of balance.
She also mentioned that her doctors are working to help her regain her strength and health, and she’s optimistic about a full recovery.
Dolly didn’t reveal specific details about her health issues, but she later told fans she’s receiving excellent care. Her doctors are confident her conditions are treatable, and she’s staying positive about that.

Dolly Parton is still recovering from recent health issues and needs more time to heal before she feels ready to perform again.
It breaks my heart to share that Dolly Parton has had to cancel her Las Vegas residency, “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas.” We were all so excited for it to begin in September, especially after it was rescheduled, but unfortunately, it just isn’t possible at this time.
I’m really sorry to everyone who bought tickets to see me in Las Vegas, but unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it. I hope you all still have a great time in Vegas, and I look forward to seeing you all again sometime soon.
Dolly Parton recently shared an update with fans shortly after the two-month anniversary of her husband, Carl Thomas Dean’s, passing at age 82. They were married for nearly 50 years, and Dolly expressed her gratitude for the support she received while grieving.

It’s been a year filled with many difficult firsts – the holidays, our wedding anniversary, and especially the day he passed away on March 3rd. It was a really tough time, but I’ll always cherish my love for him and feel his absence. I was so touched by all your support and kindness; it meant more than you know.
Dolly was overwhelmed with support, playfully noting that the flowers sent to her filled her house and porch like a garden, and the cards and letters piled up in her den like a post office. She expressed deep gratitude, saying that everyone’s kindness truly helped her recovery.

Nikki Bella, known from Total Bellas, shared that one of her breast implants moved after being hit in the chest during a wrestling match with Piper Niven in July 2025.
She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, that they would get the issue resolved eventually. Lupita Nyong’o received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the same year she won an Academy Award for her role in 12 Years a Slave.
She didn’t reveal her diagnosis until 2025, sharing on Instagram that she had privately struggled with the condition for over ten years.
She explained that growing up, many of us are taught to accept period pain as a normal part of being female. This often leaves us dealing with a very common issue on our own.

Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE this! Our Riley Keough – yes, the Riley Keough – had to go to the hospital in July 2025! Apparently, she got a hernia – it’s like, a little gap in her muscle, usually in her tummy or groin – all because she was wearing super tight pants! I mean, can you even imagine? She’s always so stylish, but even style has its price, right? I was so worried when I heard, but thankfully she’s okay! It just proves she’s human, even though she seems like a goddess to me.
Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “You haven’t tweeted in a while!” Suki replied with a surprising explanation: she injured herself six months ago by wearing very tight pants, resulting in a hernia, and has been afraid to mention it.

The former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery because his appendix was close to rupturing.
Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He explained that his appendix had a hole in it – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to doing so.
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

A Racing Louisville soccer player fell to the ground shortly after the start of her team’s game against Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle.
According to Reuters, the U.S. Women’s National Team player was seen slowly sitting down on the field with a teammate supporting her, just before she collapsed. Trainers were immediately called to assess her condition.
Savannah was given immediate medical attention on the field and then taken to a nearby hospital for more tests, according to a statement from the National Women’s Soccer League. They reported that she is currently in stable condition and is alert.

“It’s been a really tough time,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I’ve been having spasms all over my body, and doctors actually told me last year that my condition was life-threatening.”
He acknowledged that his pain is intermittent, explaining that his body has some minor imperfections and isn’t functioning perfectly.

A former contestant on The Bachelor went to the hospital in extreme back pain, saying he was forced to crawl because it was so bad. The pain flared up during a road trip with a friend while traveling in an RV.
He described a lingering tingling sensation in his knees and toes during a March 2025 episode of his podcast, Trading Secrets. He explained that just a few weeks prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he can’t even do a single squat or stand on one leg without falling. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’m sharing some personal news from Gina Kirschenheiter of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Her ex-husband, Matt, recently had a heart attack back in March of this year, but thankfully, he pulled through. In February 2025, the former Even Stevens star revealed she was shot in the face during a birthday celebration for her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a trip to go clay pigeon shooting when the incident occurred.
In an Instagram post, she explained that she was accidentally shot in the face by someone else at a party. They fired a gun unsafely, and she was hit five times, with one bullet narrowly missing her right eye. @thebrendanrooney quickly helped, evaluating her injuries and rushing her to the hospital.
According to the former Kim Possible star, a small piece of something got stuck behind their eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, but they’re keeping a close watch on the situation. Thankfully, their vision is currently normal.
The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving, sharing how much she cherishes her daughters, husband, family, and friends. Reflecting on a near-death experience, she urged everyone to appreciate their loved ones and hug them often, emphasizing how quickly life can change.

While the internet isn’t always a kind place, Amy Schumer is happy that, in this case, it helped her get answers.
“The internet really came for me after doing a bunch of press, and I was like, ‘OK everybody, relax,'” Amy recalled of her “puffier” face on a January 2025 episode of Call Her Daddy. “But then doctors were chiming in in the comments and they were like, ‘No no, we think something’s really up. Your face looks so crazy that we think something’s up. And I’m like, ‘Wait, I’m getting trolled by doctors?’”
After these doctors said they thought she had Cushing syndrome and that it may be caused by spiking coritsol levels or steroid injections, the Life & Beth creator thought, “Wait, I have been getting steroid injections in my scars.”
“I had a breast reduction, a C-section, whatever, and so I was getting these steroid injections,” Amy said. “So it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome, which I wouldn’t have known if the internet hadn’t come for me so hard.”
Toda, Amy is just relieved she’s OK. As she shared in a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, “Finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I’m healthy was the greatest news imaginable.”

In December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut during a game and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald told ESPN how grateful they were, saying, “We feel very lucky, and I wouldn’t want any parent to go through that.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly developed stroke-like symptoms, initially unable to speak or move the right side of her face. Although these symptoms eventually subsided, she went to the hospital for testing. Doctors discovered she had a small blood clot in her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack), sometimes called a mini-stroke. Further investigation at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, known as a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to travel to her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the hole in her heart and is now feeling well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the virus affected nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on one side. He also mentioned it became increasingly difficult to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, calling the situation scary but assuring everyone he would be completely fine and was grateful he was on the mend.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, he explained that he was suffering from a severe headache when he suddenly lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next 20 days.
Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. Doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that caused a stroke.
After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then spent time in Chicago receiving rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for the support he received, saying, “I appreciate every prayer, because I needed every prayer.”

The reality TV star said she temporarily stopped breathing while running a mile during the first challenge on the NBC show.
Honestly, it still gives me chills just thinking about it. She talked about it on that show, Fit for TV, and she said she doesn’t remember much at all. Just the sound of a helicopter, and this feeling like she was floating, completely disconnected. Then, she said her grandpa appeared, and after that… darkness. But then, a light! She was so certain, she knew she had died right then and there. It’s just…wow. It’s incredible and heartbreaking all at once.
She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially begins to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. While filming the show, she experienced a severe headache while at the gym, which quickly escalated. She described collapsing and being violently ill, realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.
A hospital scan revealed she’d suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She immediately underwent surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she temporarily lost her ability to speak, often muttering incoherently.
Though she was discharged after a month, a follow-up scan in 2013 revealed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This procedure was unsuccessful, leading to a massive bleed and a dire prognosis. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia reports she has now made a full recovery and is doing well.

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, recently expressed her gratitude for her family’s support after she suffered a stroke in January 2024. She immediately reached out to them, sending a text and a picture, and they quickly came to her aid, as she told TopMob News correspondent Will Marfuggi in December 2024. While she could have been discharged after the stroke, Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer due to complications with lupus and kidney failure. Thankfully, Cori is now recovering well. She shared that she’s doing great and has been working to regain some motor skills, but is otherwise feeling fine.

Oh my gosh, I was so heartbroken listening to Shailene talk about everything she went through in her early twenties! It sounds absolutely awful. She said she actually lost her hearing, and couldn’t even walk for five minutes without needing to sleep for hours. Can you imagine? Everything she ate caused her pain! It was just a total mess of diagnoses and doctors telling her different things. She’s always been so into holistic health, studying herbalism and everything, so she really took it into her own hands, working with both doctors and healers to try and figure things out. It wasn’t a quick fix, though – it took ten years! She explained how being in so much physical pain led to so much anxiety around food, and even body dysmorphia and questioning who she even was. It’s just… so much. But the best part is, she’s doing so much better now! She said everything eventually resolved itself and she’s healthy! I’m just so incredibly happy for her. Hearing her talk about it was tough, but knowing she’s finally feeling good makes my heart so happy!
