Doja Cat is Nearly Unrecognizable With Blonde Hair at Met Gala 2026

You ain’t never seen Doja Cat with hair like this.

Doja Cat turned heads at the 2026 Met Gala in New York City on May 4th by revealing she’d dramatically changed her hair color to blonde, just a day after it had been red.

As a style enthusiast, I have to say Doja Cat absolutely nailed the Met Gala’s ‘Costume Art’ theme! She stepped onto the carpet in a stunning tan ensemble from Saint Laurent, and the attention to detail was incredible. She went full monochrome – matching her hair, shoes, and nails to the beige of her dress. It was a truly cohesive and artistic look, and a perfect example of fashion as art. You can see what all the stars wore at the event here.

This year’s event was particularly special for Doja Cat, as she hosted for the very first time. She was joined on the hosting committee by Zoë Kravitz, Sabrina Carpenter, Misty Copeland, and Lena Dunham. Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour served as cochairs.

As a longtime follower of the Met Gala, I can confidently say Doja Cat always delivers a moment. She’s been a guest three times now, and honestly, each year she seems to outdo herself with her incredible style. She really knows how to make an entrance!

At the 2023 Met Gala, which celebrated “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” Doja Cat made a striking entrance in a custom Oscar de la Renta gown. The beaded dress featured a dramatic feathered train and a playful hood shaped like cat ears. She completed the look with cat-eye makeup, a prosthetic cat nose, and a jewel on her forehead, all as a tribute to Karl Lagerfeld’s beloved cat, Choupette.

The next year, Doja Cat embraced a more glamorous style, wearing a form-fitting, damp-looking T-shirt dress. She also drew inspiration from the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit, completing her look with intentionally smudged mascara.

She later explained the decision behind her dress, noting that she ultimately wanted to stand out.

Knowing others would likely choose floral designs, I opted for cotton as my ‘flower’ – the most common one, really. I paired it with a white T-shirt because it’s a classic and I wanted to make a statement. I definitely didn’t want to just blend in with everyone else, as I told Entertainment Tonight in 2024.

At last year’s Met Gala, Doja Cat wore a sharply tailored pinstripe blazer featuring a leopard-print corset. This outfit fit the event’s theme of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and its “Tailored for You” dress code. She finished the look with black tights, no pants, a fur cap, and a bright red lip.

Doja Cat wasn’t the only celebrity who impressed with their outfit at the 2026 Met Gala. Check out the rest of the stars who wowed on the Met’s famous steps…
