This isn’t just a sweet dream—Beyoncé is actually at the 2026 Met Gala.
After a ten-year absence, Beyoncé returned to the Met Gala—fashion’s biggest night—in New York City on May 4th.
Beyoncé made a grand entrance at the Met Gala in a breathtaking crystal gown and sparkling crown, perfectly capturing the night’s theme of “Fashion is Art” and celebrating the beauty of the human form. She was joined by her husband, Jay-Z, and their 14-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, and completed her show-stopping look with a dramatic, flowing feather coat as she arrived.
It’s not surprising the Grammy winner turned heads – she was one of the co-hosts for the event, alongside Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour. (You can see photos of all the stars at the Met Gala here.)
Beyoncé is a red carpet veteran, and her 2016 Met Gala look was particularly memorable. She stunned in a peach-colored latex gown by Givenchy Haute Couture, complete with dramatic puffed sleeves. The dress was beautifully decorated with hand-painted flowers and delicate pearl bead constellations.
Whether she’s performing on stage or attending glamorous events, Beyoncé, 44, has always been a fashion icon. This talent seems to run in the family, as style is a long-standing tradition. She shares her daughter, Blue Ivy, and 8-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir, with Jay-Z.
She shared that fashion has always been a huge part of her life, even before she was born. ‘Many of you may not know this,’ she said while accepting a CFDA Fashion Icon award in 2016, ‘but my grandmother was a seamstress.’
My grandparents struggled financially and couldn’t afford to send my mother to Catholic school. Instead, my grandmother used her sewing skills – making clothes for priests, nuns, and student uniforms – to pay for my mother’s education. She then taught my mother how to sew, passing that valuable skill down to the next generation.

When Beyoncé became part of Destiny’s Child with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, it was Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, who was responsible for creating their signature look and style.
Luxury brands weren’t interested in providing clothes for us – four Black, plus-size country singers – and we didn’t have the money for expensive designer gowns. Just like my grandmother did for her children, we had to rely on our own skills and imagination to make our vision a reality.
My mother and my uncle, who I dearly miss, lovingly handmade our first costumes. They painstakingly sewed on hundreds of crystals and pearls, pouring their hearts into every little detail. I was lucky enough to have an extra set of armor, too.
She definitely made a bold fashion statement at the 2026 Met Gala. See all the best outfits below!
