All is fair in love and war, but Simone Ashley is the victor of the 2026 Met Gala red carpet.
To highlight the “Costume Art” exhibit’s theme of clothing and the body, the Bridgerton star made a striking appearance at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 4th, wearing only silver chains.
Simone finished her daring, nearly-naked outfit with sparkling bracelets and dramatic chandelier earrings, truly shining at the Met Gala. (See all the Met Gala looks here.)
This isn’t the first time the 31-year-old has attended the Met Gala. She first appeared in 2022, wearing a bronze top and black skirt with a long, flowing train from Moschino – an outfit inspired by that year’s “Gilded Glamour” theme.
For the 2024 Met Gala, themed “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” Simone made a striking return after two years, wearing a shimmering blue sequin gown by Prabal Gurung and sporting long, flowing hair that reached her knees.
According to hairstylist Shon Hyungsun Ju, the initial plan was to give her hair inspired by Cher—long and reaching the floor. However, as he worked, he became more inspired by the look of Botticelli’s paintings and created softer, wavy hair reminiscent of a goddess, as he told Vogue.
Simone intentionally skipped the Met Gala last year, telling her team she wanted to prioritize her work.
In a 2024 interview with Vogue India, she described life after appearing in Bridgerton as incredibly exciting. She shared that she’d been experiencing amazing opportunities, such as attending the Met Gala and working on fashion photoshoots. It all happened so quickly that she sometimes found herself wondering what was happening.
Simone explained that it was hard for her to acknowledge feeling overwhelmed, as she usually feels very focused and knows exactly what she’s doing and wants.

That involves collaborating with Meryl Streep, where I play the new assistant to her famous Miranda Priestly in the recently released The Devil Wears Prada 2.
Simone recently told Bustle that the best part of the experience was simply being able to return home and share it with her loved ones.
