Elizabeth Debicki was fashion royalty, as always, at the 2026 Met Gala.
If you blinked while watching the event on May 4th, you might have missed the stunning historic tiara worn by the The Crown actress as she walked up the famous staircase. It was nestled in her relaxed, wavy hair.
Otherwise, her look was pure Greek goddess.
Following the event’s “Fashion Is Art” theme, the 35-year-old wore a flowing, mostly ivory gown by Vera Wang, reminiscent of ancient Greece. A black fabric panel at her hip extended into a train she carried gracefully over her arm. She completed the look with flat sandals from Footwear for Film LTDA and a stunning headpiece. (You can see photos of all the stars at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual benefit here.)
As reported by Town & Country, a unique vintage tiara from Verdura Jewelry is part of the brand’s museum collection. It was originally created in 1957 for Betsey Cushing Whitney to wear when her husband, an ambassador, was formally presented to the British royal court.
Crafted in New York, this piece is adorned with 1,223 diamonds totaling 28.32 carats. Its feather motif takes inspiration from a 1907 ten-dollar gold coin depicting Lady Liberty wearing a feathered crown.
Elizabeth attends the annual gala every year—this year’s theme is “Costume Art”—but this was the first time she helped organize it as part of the host committee.
This year’s committee included Australian actress, as well as Zoë Kravitz, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Misty Copeland, and Lena Dunham. Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams co-chaired the event alongside Anna Wintour.

Elizabeth has been to the Met Gala four times—in 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2024—and always turned heads with her fashion choices.
At the 2016 Met Gala, themed “Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology,” the actress known for The Night Manager wore a green Prada dress with a floral print. The gown beautifully represented the event’s theme – the contrast between handcrafted and machine-made clothing – with its delicate white flower embroidery, sequins, and beading.

Three years after that, she made a grand entrance at the Met Gala, showcasing her take on the “Camp: Notes on Fashion” theme. She definitely nailed it, wearing a stunning, light pink Salvatore Ferragamo dress with a large bow detail. She completed the look with elegant white satin gloves and matching pink heels.
At the 2022 event, she perfectly captured the “Gilded Glamour and White Tie” dress code in an off-white Dior gown with unique cutouts and a subtle nude lining. She completed her look with simple gold accessories: a headband and dangling earrings.
Most recently, Elizabeth made a stunning appearance at the 2024 Met Gala wearing a strapless gold Dior gown. She perfectly matched the event’s “Garden of Time” theme with a gold floral headpiece and earrings, completing her look as the star of Widows.
Even though Elizabeth often wears dresses for public appearances, she’s said that she truly feels most comfortable and like herself when she’s wearing a suit.
She recently told Elle UK that when she travels frequently, she only packs two high-quality suits. She explained that sometimes she enjoys experimenting with fashion, but other times she simply wants to feel comfortable and authentic.
Elizabeth wasn’t the only star who impressed at the 2026 Met Gala. Here’s a look at other celebrities who turned heads with their fashion choices on this major night.
