Cardi B, Connor Storrie and More Heat Up the Met Gala After-Parties

The art of fashion continued to shine after the 2026 Met Gala.

After the Costume Institute’s fundraiser at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 4th, celebrities continued the celebrations with after-parties throughout New York City.

Guests getting ready at The Mark Hotel, including Hudson Williams, Cardi B, and Ashley Graham, enjoyed a pre-party snack of chicken tenders and French fries from the hotel’s KFC Haute Dog Cart before heading out.

After the Met Gala, a lot of celebrities and guests continued the celebration at an after-party hosted by Saint Laurent at People’s bar in Greenwich Village, continuing into the early hours of the morning.

Many guests embraced the evening’s “Costume Art” theme and creatively interpreted the “Fashion Is Art” dress code.

Ashley changed out of her neutral-toned dress at the Met Gala and into a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier dress with statue designs for the after-parties.

I was completely captivated by Hunter Schafer’s look at the event! She started with this incredible custom Prada outfit—it was clearly inspired by Klimt’s ‘Mäda Primavesi’ painting, so beautiful. But then, before going to the Saint Laurent party, she changed into a more streamlined and shorter dress by Steve O. Smith, and it was just as stunning!

The parties following the main event also attracted some celebrities who hadn’t attended the Gala itself, such as Olivia Rodrigo, who had just finished hosting Saturday Night Live.

At the start of the Met Gala, Beyoncé, Venus Williams, and Nicole Kidman served as co-chairs. Venus attended with her husband, Andrea Preti, and both Nicole and Beyoncé were joined by their daughters.

Nicole brought her 17-year-old daughter, Sunday Rose, and her ex-husband, Keith Urban, while Beyoncé was accompanied by her husband, Jay-Z, and their 14-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.

The co-chairs actually bent the rules of the Met Gala by bringing their daughters, as attendees are generally expected to be 18 or older. But similar to the yearly tradition of taking forbidden selfies, it appears Anna Wintour was willing to overlook this.

Nicole grew up with a deep appreciation for fashion, influenced by her grandmother and mother, both skilled seamstresses who frequently made clothes for her and taught her about the power of style.

The award-winning actor explained to Vogue in 2025 that their style varies depending on how they feel. Sometimes they use clothing as a form of protection, and other times it’s about being playful or even provocative. Occasionally, they aim for a more gender-neutral look, or simply want to make a bold statement.

For the 58-year-old, fashion is “a parallel artistic life.”

Honestly, fashion isn’t just something Nicole does, it’s in her blood! Growing up, she was always surrounded by it. Her grandmother and mom were incredible seamstresses – they weren’t just making clothes, they were creating art, and a lot of it was for her! It wasn’t just about looking good, though; she really learned from them how fashion could be a powerful thing, and she saw it firsthand.
