Control Has Sold Over 6 Million Units

Remedy Entertainment has released its business update for January to March 2026, and the news is positive following a challenging year with the release of FBC: Firebreak. According to CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon, strong sales this quarter have pushed lifetime sales of their 2019 game, Control, past six million units.

The popularity of Control Resonant has certainly played a role, but Remedy believes the game is a great way for new players to get into their universe and reach a wider audience. It’s now available on even more platforms, including iPad and iPhone, in addition to PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X/S, and PC.

Additionally, Alan Wake 2 is still generating revenue, though total sales figures haven’t been released. It’s also contributing to ongoing sales of older games in the Alan Wake series.

The game Firebreak was briefly mentioned by Remedy, who stated that maintaining its servers shouldn’t be too expensive, especially since the recent major update. While it’s possible they might discontinue the game if costs become too high, players can currently enjoy the cooperative shooting experience.

Though a specific release date hasn’t been announced, Control Resonant is expected to launch this year on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game takes place over seven years after the events of Control, where the Federal Bureau of Control lost control, leading to disaster in Manhattan. Jesse Faden is missing, and her brother, Dylan, is now the one who might be able to save the world.
