Control Resonant Reaffirmed for 2026, Remedy Committed to Delivering A “Must-Have Day-One Purchase”

Remedy Entertainment is still seeing success with Control and Alan Wake 2, but all the attention is now on Control Resonant. This makes sense, as it’s their most ambitious project to date – an expansive, open-ended game with deeper RPG mechanics, and is being developed by their largest team ever.

CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon recently shared that the company is focused on making their new game an instant hit with both existing Control fans and new players. Speaking during the first quarter business review for 2026, he noted strong initial interest following the game’s announcement last December and expressed confidence that excitement will continue to build as the launch date approaches. Early signs suggest they are on track to achieve this goal of becoming a ‘must-have’ game from day one.

Gaudechon also shared that he plays the game often and is pleased with how the gameplay and overall experience are shaping up, expressing confidence in the quality of the final product. This is positive news for Remedy, who started the year with a successful and profitable first quarter.

Remedy hasn’t announced a specific release date yet, but they’re still aiming for a 2026 launch. They plan to ramp up marketing efforts before the game comes out, but this will likely happen after the release date is revealed, not before.

The anticipation is high! Remedy’s game, Control, has been a massive success, selling over six million copies, and its new expansion, Resonant, takes things to the next level. Players will experience the game through a new character, Dylan Faden, who uses a combination of telekinetic abilities and hand-to-hand fighting, along with the help of a transforming creature called the Aberrant.

Manhattan is the opposite of the Oldest House – instead of being cut off from the world, it’s a city overrun with strange, supernatural threats. Dylan must team up with the Federal Bureau of Control to defeat these enemies, bring peace back to Manhattan, and hopefully locate his missing sister while he’s at it.

Control Resonant is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Head here to see it in action.
