Ciara, Russell Wilson Detail Kids’ “Opinions” on Met Gala Looks

Ciara and Russell Wilson kept their Met Gala 2026 outfits locked up like an ancient Egyptian secret.

The singer behind “Body Party” and her NFL star husband kept their elaborate Egyptian Pharaoh-themed outfits a secret from their children.

Ciara told Zuri Hall during Live From TopMob: Met Gala 2026 on May 4th that her children hadn’t yet seen something and she was excited to get their opinions on it.

Ciara, who has four children – 11-year-old Future Zahir with her ex, Future, and Sienna (9), Win (5), and Amora (2) with Russell – shared that her kids would likely have strong reactions to her gold Celia Kritharioti gown, playfully adding, “I’m sure they’ll have opinions!”

Russell, wearing a unique white suit with gold accents designed by Brandon Blackwood, mentioned that people were already reacting to what was happening, saying, “They’re watching everything as it happens.”

Ciara, dressed in a look inspired by the “Costume Art” theme and completing it with a headdress similar to that of Queen Nefertiti, said she felt like royalty, regardless of what her children thought of her outfit.

Russell and Ciara weren’t the only celebrities who looked to ancient art for fashion ideas. Actress Chase Sui Wonders, known for her role in The Studio, shared that her lavender McQueen dress was inspired by a visit to Pompeii.

Chase shared with Live from TopMob that they were captivated by the wall reliefs. They particularly admired the ancient Roman paintings, dating back to around 200 B.C., noting their beautiful, raw, and natural quality, as well as the pigments used.

The 29-year-old was inspired by the timeless quality of ancient art and incorporated it into her first Met Gala appearance, explaining, “This look is inspired by ancient Rome.”

Let me tell you, Anne Hathaway absolutely stunned on the red carpet! Her black Michael Kors gown felt so classic and romantic, like something out of history. What really made it special were the incredible hand-painted details – the artist, Peter McGough, actually drew inspiration from ancient Greek vase paintings. It was a gorgeous, unexpected touch that really elevated the whole look.

Peter explained to Vogue that the dress evokes the image of a goddess from a Greek urn, and he loves how it transforms the wearer into a work of art. He sees it as ‘moving art,’ emphasizing his belief that fashion and art are closely connected – fashion is wearable art.
