Crunchyroll Confirms Sudden Dub Delay for Their Coolest Spring 2026 Anime

I was really excited about one of Crunchyroll’s Spring 2026 anime, but unfortunately the English dub is a little delayed. The good news is Crunchyroll has announced when the next episode will drop! We’re about halfway through the Spring season now, and a lot of the new shows are finishing up their first story arcs. Luckily, we’ve been getting English dubs for many of them pretty quickly, but this one just hit a small snag.

The anime Daemons of the Shadow Realm initially released new episodes in both English and Japanese at the same time, for the first four episodes. However, fans noticed that an English dub wasn’t available when Episode 5 came out. Crunchyroll has since confirmed a delay and announced that the English dub of Episode 5 will now be released on May 16th.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm Confirms New English Dub Release Schedule

Hey everyone, just a quick update on the English dub of Daemons of the Shadow Realm! Crunchyroll announced that the next episode will now drop on May 16th. It’s a bit of a delay due to production issues, but honestly, it’s not too bad – only two weeks! I’m actually really impressed with how quickly they’re turning these around, especially compared to how long we sometimes wait for dubs these days. It’s a little frustrating to wait, of course, but the good news is that after May 16th, we’ll be back to getting new episodes every week! I’m still super excited for the series and think it’s worth the short wait.

So far, Daemons of the Shadow Realm is a standout anime from the Spring 2026 season. Based on a manga by Hiromu Arakawa, the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist, the series starts with a shocking twist that’s best experienced knowing nothing beforehand. It’s a strong opening designed to grab your attention, and each new episode continues to deliver surprising moments as the story unfolds.

What Is Daemons of the Shadow Realm?

I’m so excited that Daemons of the Shadow Realm is getting a Japanese language release, and even better, they’re working on a dub! If you’re like me and want to watch, it’s streaming exclusively on Crunchyroll – and that includes all of North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, the Indian Subcontinent, and Southeast Asia! Basically, if you have Crunchyroll, you’re covered!

Masahiro Ando directs the anime, with Bones Film handling the animation. Noburu Takagi wrote the scripts, Nobuhiro Arai designed the characters, and Kenichiro Suehiro composed the music. While the original manga is available on Crunchyroll, it’s recommended to go into the anime without prior knowledge. The story centers around twin siblings caught up in a battle against magical creatures, and the plot develops from there.
