The upcoming Star Wars series on Disney+ in 2025 will showcase an array of thrilling villains from various corners of the renowned sci-fi galaxy. Although this year has been relatively quiet for Star Wars, there have still been some intriguing developments. Viewers have enjoyed fresh episodes of the highly praised Andor, as well as the animated series, Tales of the Underworld, and the conclusion of 2024’s Skeleton Crew.
2025 isn’t the end of the journey for the space-exploring brand, as Lucasfilm still has two more Star Wars series in store for Disney+. These upcoming shows promise exciting streaming adventures, wrapping up 2025 before returning to cinemas in 2026 with “The Mandalorian & Grogu”. This fall, subscribers can look forward to the releases of “Star Wars: Visions” Season 3 and “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past”, both offering distinctive, out-of-canon animated tales from the Star Wars universe.
The series titled “Pieces of the Past” is set to debut on our platform on September 19th. This four-part journey, built around bricks, will follow the tale of Gaten Matarazzo’s character, Sig Greebling. As a spirited and ambitious Nerf-herder, Sig unintentionally alters reality after extracting an antique relic from a Jedi temple.
On October 29th, Star Wars: Visions is set to premiere, offering a fresh batch of animated tales from various acclaimed Japanese animation studios. For this third season, we’re going back to the original formula seen in Season 1, featuring stories exclusively told through the lens of Japanese anime style instead of the diverse range of studios presented in Season 2.
Every Star Wars Villain Still Coming in 2025
Darth Dev
As a passionate movie enthusiast, I’d put it like this: In the LEGO Star Wars universe, I, Darth Dev (originally known as Dev Greebling), am the menacing older brother to Sig Greebling, the hero of Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past. My transformation into Darth Dev came about when my brother Sig, in the very first season, extracted the Cornerstone – an event that unleashed the darkness within me.
After the removal of an old artifact, Dev assumes the role of supreme Sith leader and governs the empire following the show’s modest main character who rearranged the galaxy’s structure. In the upcoming season, it appears that the character is being mentored by a new menacing figure called Master Solitus.
Darth Jar Jar
Previously, LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy was merely a subject of humorous memes on the internet. However, in the year 2024, it brought Darth Jar Jar to life, introducing a version of the clumsy Gungan who wielded the dark side of the Force.
In the upcoming episode “Pieces of the Past”, Darth Jar Jar reappears, acting as a secondary antagonist who poses a threat to Sig and their companion during their mission to restore the galaxy using interstellar Lego blocks.
Solitus
In “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past”, Solitus is the central antagonist, once a revered Jedi Master who mentored numerous Jedi, even including the much-loved Jedi character, Bob.
But unfortunately, his condition has deteriorated significantly, leading him to assume the role of the head of the disjointed galaxy’s Sith order. He now tutors the wicked Darth Dev as his apprentice.
Aneé-san
In the Star Wars: Visions series, Aneé-san holds the unique privilege of being the initial villain to confront a returning hero. This role is fulfilled as the primary antagonist in Kamikaze Douga’s “The Duel: Payback,” which serves as a sequel to “The Duel” from Season 1.
In the upcoming episodes, the Twi’lek Sith character will reappear, resuming a tale started in a previous season as she tracks down a rogue Sith warrior who has defected.
Sevn
In the third installment of the “Visions” stories, a fresh character named Sevn is introduced. This human bounty hunter, glimpsed in previews for the new series, teams up with the robotic IV-A4. You’ll find her in action in Studio Wit’s upcoming “Visions” short titled “The Bounty Hunters.
IV-A4
In a fresh addition to Star Wars: Visions Season 3, we meet IV-A4 – an android bounty hunter who teams up with the human Sevn. Together, they embark on diverse criminal assignments scattered throughout the cosmos. This duo makes their debut as part of Studio Wit’s storyline titled “The Bounty Hunters.
Green
In the forthcoming third season of Star Wars: Visions, we’ll encounter a fresh character named Green, who takes on a villainous role as a stormtrooper. This character is slated to appear in “Black,” a new tale penned by David Productions.
Bonus: Other Visions Villains
As a die-hard Star Wars fan, I can’t help but get excited about the fresh antagonists set to make their debut in Star Wars: Visions during its upcoming Season 3. The recently released trailer has given us a sneak peek, yet leaves us in suspense about these new enigmatic characters and their intriguing names that remain undisclosed.
In the trailer, viewers catch a sneak peek of a masked Sith charging towards a young Jedi in the third season episode titled “Child of Hope”. Additionally, there’s a hint of another Sith character wielding two lightsabers as they spin menacingly towards the camera in the episode named “The Bird of Paradise.
