6/25/25, 8:37 p.m. ET UPDATE: Grant Ellis shared his personal feelings following comments from Bachelor Nation about his breakup with Juliana Pasquarosa.
Following Ashley Iaconetti and Trista Sutter openly expressing their complex emotions regarding Ellis’ handling of the split on the “Almost Famous” podcast episode that aired on June 24th, Grant chose to address these comments through the podcast’s social media platform.
Grant expressed in a now-deleted comment that everyone seems to be criticizing him, and he understands why. He did his best to keep the relationship going, as did Juliana. He’s capable of setting aside his emotions when something doesn’t suit him. The wisdom gained from heartache is always valuable to him. Ben Higgins, Ashley’s co-host on “Almost Famous,” read this comment during a special episode.
Ben then gave his “personal opinion” to Ellis’ remark, saying “it comes across a little cold.”
Ben clarified, just a few months ago, they had been making their relationship public and seeking public support for it. They discussed their shared future, even mentioning plans to move in together. They explained that the reason we didn’t see them often was due to distance, but they were about to overcome that soon.
Ben noted that Ashley had presumed the relationship between Grant and Juliana wasn’t going well much earlier than when their split became public knowledge. This observation, however accurate it might have been, received “negative feedback” from the general public.
Ben went on to say, “I don’t believe Grant’s remark was unjustified. In fact, I think he’s in a phase of shielding himself. He’s aiming to move past this relationship and explore what his life might be like beyond the Bachelor experience. He wants to venture back into dating while the enthusiasm from the show is still strong.

Former contestants Trista Sutter and Ashley Iaconetti express their opinions about the behavior of Grant Ellis after his breakup with Juliana Pasquarosa in Bachelor Nation.
Trista (age 52) and Ashley (age 37) discussed Grant’s Instagram Live on their “Almost Famous” podcast episode on June 24th. They were astonished by the latest Bachelor lead, who claimed he wasn’t heartbroken following his split from Juliana over the fact that he wasn’t truly heartbroken after their breakup.
“The not heartbroken thing. I’m sorry. You were engaged,” Trista said. “That’s shocking to me.”
Ashley chimed in, adding, “That’s cold.” Trista agreed.
Although it was a mutual separation, you’re feeling devastated since it was an opportunity that might have led to a marriage, as that had been the plan,” Ashley added, explaining the reason for your sorrow.
Trista remarked, “If you haven’t felt heartache, then did you truly feel affection for her? Weren’t you in love? Aren’t you saying that you expressed your love to her and yet you aren’t experiencing heartbreak? In essence, being heartbroken means feeling pain because of lost love.
As I, a lifestyle expert, stepped into the role of the Bachelorette, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of heartache on the very first night within the grandeur of the Bachelor Mansion, as I bid farewell to those who didn’t make the cut.
“Maybe his definition of heartbreak is just different than ours,” she added. “I don’t know.”
Ashley was carefully considering all angles of the matter and honestly questioned whether Grant was genuinely being truthful or merely defending himself following their separation.
She mused that it didn’t turn out well, and now he seems indifferent, saying something along the lines of “I don’t care about her anymore. I’m ready to move forward.” It appears as though he’s attempting to hide his feelings and act as if the situation won’t bother him.
Meanwhile, Trista hoped that Grant would openly share his true feelings with his audience from now on.
She expressed honesty by acknowledging that she had recently become engaged and clearly valued the person. Essentially, she asked if it wasn’t possible for him to accept that ending such a relationship, which he believed was his future, was a source of sadness.
During the final episode of his Bachelor season, which aired in March, Grant proposed to Juliana. However, they revealed their separation approximately three months afterwards. As reported by Us Weekly, Grant and Juliana have now stopped following each other on Instagram.
Following their breakup, Grant took to Instagram and fielded queries from fans regarding his ended engagement.
After their separation, Grant appeared on Instagram to address fan inquiries concerning his broken engagement.
He stated on June 22nd that he didn’t end a relationship with anyone, and that life continues following the “mutual” separation from Juliana. Although he’s now single, there’s no indication he’ll get back together with any past Bachelor contestants.
In my personal perspective, I choose progression over revisiting the past. I’m committed to leaving my history behind and focusing on what lies ahead. The beauty of life resides in its continuous journey, not in retracing our steps.
