The Teaser for Legally Blonde Prequel Elle Will Make You Bend and Snap

Omigod you guys, Elle Woods is back!

A first look at Elle, a new series based on the 2001 film Legally Blonde starring Reese Witherspoon, was released on May 6th. The teaser trailer shows what Elle Woods was like in high school.

Before becoming known for Harvard Law, Elle Woods was a typical teenager growing up in the wealthy Bel-Air area of Los Angeles. The story begins in 1995, and follows Elle—played by Lexi Minetree—as she enjoys life with her close friends, often relaxing by the pool.

Everything changes when Elle’s parents, June Diane Raphael and Tom Everett Scott, make her move to Seattle after her dad gets a new job. She finds it hard to adjust, swapping the bright California weather for the often-rainy climate of the Pacific Northwest.

Elle’s bright pink clothes and blonde hair really stand out when she’s around her new, more casually dressed classmates. She even jokes to her mother, “I’m feeling very blonde right now.”

Elle doesn’t shy away from a challenge, so she turns to her beloved dog, Bruiser, and says, “Wish me luck.”

Good news for viewers – the show will be available to stream on Prime Video starting July 1st.

Reese, who also executive produces the show Elle, was particularly thrilled with the casting. She was so struck by Lexi’s audition tape that she wondered if they were even the same person!

Reese later called Lexi and her co-stars – Chandler Kinney, Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovitz, and Zac Looker – to announce the show’s premiere date. She explained that it was a special moment because it would be the 25th anniversary of the original Legally Blonde movie, which was also released in July.

Even though the first season of Elle isn’t out yet, Reese Witherspoon announced in January that it’s already been renewed for a second season. She said Amazon executives were very impressed with the show and ordered another season right away.

But until Elle premiers in July, there’s plenty of TV to keep you entertained—read on for more.

I’m so impressed with how this competition is run! Everything the teams create is carefully looked at by Eric Eremita, a truly award-winning contractor, and Wendell Holland, a designer everyone knows and respects. They don’t just look at how things look though – they really put the designs to the test, checking for how well they’re built, how practical they are, and how creative the solutions are. The best part? The winning team gets a huge $100,000 grant to actually build on their idea and make a real difference in the world. It’s amazing to see innovation get that kind of support!
