So, Xbox is still changing things up, and it’s about to get pretty big. Since Asha Sharma took the reins at Xbox a couple of months ago, she’s been making a lot of moves. We’ve already seen Game Pass get cheaper, which was awesome, and a few other little adjustments to how Xbox feels to us as players. But next week, it sounds like we’re getting a major change directly to the Xbox Series X and S consoles themselves – it’s going to be a pretty big deal!
Xbox Series X and S consoles will be getting a fresh new startup screen next week, on May 13th, according to a recent social media post from Sharma. While the new intro video is similar to the current one, it prominently displays the redesigned green Xbox logo and removes the “Xbox” text, featuring only the logo itself.

New boot up coming next Wednesday. Sound on!

As a long-time Xbox fan, I was surprised to see a new startup screen, but honestly, it’s a really cool sign! Usually, Xbox only changes these things when a new console comes out. The fact that they’re doing it mid-generation, like right now, tells me they’re really committed to the rebranding they’ve been talking about for 2026. It shows they’re taking it seriously, and I’m excited to see what else is coming!
Xbox is heading into a major month, with significant updates planned for its gaming services. The highlight will be the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7th, where we’ll likely get a fresh look at highly anticipated titles like Fable, Halo: Campaign Evolved, and Gears of War: E-Day. Expect plenty of unexpected announcements too, potentially revealing Xbox’s plans for 2027 and the years following.
