All six episodes of the Netflix series Legends are now streaming. Like creator Neil Forsyth’s previous show, The Gold, it’s a uniquely British story that unfolds with an international scope.
Starring Steve Coogan, Tom Burke, and Hayley Squires, the series tells the real-life story of a team of everyday Customs officers who answered an ad for a risky and unusual assignment.
The team’s assignment was to infiltrate British drug gangs and disrupt the country’s heroin trade. They created completely fabricated identities – ‘Legends’ – and fully adopted these new personas to convincingly blend in with the criminals. Their goal was to dismantle the gangs from within.
The show isn’t just set in Britain – it also travels to various international locations. Let’s take a look at where the series takes place and where all the filming happened.
Read on for everything you need to know about the filming locations used for Netflix drama Legends.
Where is Legends set?

The show Legends is mainly filmed in London and Liverpool, but it also features scenes shot around the world. Episodes include locations like Pakistan, the Netherlands, and Germany.
Where was Legends filmed?

As a real cinema fan, I was fascinated to learn that ‘Legends’ was filmed all over the UK! They really got around, shooting scenes in places like London, Liverpool, Bedford, Portsmouth, St Albans, East Sussex, Reading, and a bunch of other spots. It’s cool to think about all the different corners of the country that made their way onto the screen.
Meanwhile, the series also shot in Morocco, with the country doubling for Pakistan in episode 5.
According to creator Neil Forsyth, the show was designed to look like a movie and feel genuinely realistic.

We filmed almost entirely on real sets, not soundstages,” he said. “While finding so many locations was difficult for our production team, it helps create a feeling of constant discovery and takes the audience to unexpected places.
It’s thrilling for viewers because the plot is unpredictable, but that unpredictability creates a lot of challenges for those making the show! We’ve been constantly relocating and filming, almost like a touring circus.
