When the fourteenth season of King of the Hill became available on Hulu, many animation fans were excited to revisit Arlen, Texas. What most didn’t realize was just how popular the show’s return would be. In fact, the revival became one of Hulu’s biggest hits in 2025. Later this year, the fifteenth season will premiere, and viewers can expect some significant changes for the Hill family. In particular, Bobby Hill will face new and challenging situations when the show returns.
Ahead of the fifteenth season, premiering on Hulu July 20th, Hulu shared a preview of what’s to come. It seems Bobby is finding that being a business owner is more challenging than he expected. The show will follow Hank and Peggy as they adjust to retirement and try to keep the peace on Rainey Street, while Bobby balances his friendships with the pressures of running his restaurant, Robata Chane – a German and Asian fusion eatery. Though Bobby’s a talented chef, owning a business is proving to be a new kind of challenge.
How Adult Bobby Came to Be
After bringing back King of the Hill, creator Saladin Patterson considered how to develop Bobby’s character as he grows up. The team debated how much focus to give Bobby’s romantic life, wondering if fans would enjoy seeing him date. They also discussed where Bobby would live – whether he’d continue living at home or share a place with Joseph. Ultimately, they decided it made sense for Bobby to move to a new part of Dallas, closer to his restaurant, and explore his own storylines. They were careful to balance giving him independence with maintaining the show’s established feel.
Season fifteen will likely see Bobby focusing more on work, but he’ll also be navigating the ups and downs of a new relationship. After deciding to try dating his friend Connie in the season fourteen finale, their first date didn’t go as planned, ending with Connie needing a hospital visit. It’s safe to assume their attempts to make the relationship work will be a major storyline next season, and fans will be happy to know that Pamela Adlon, who voices Bobby, will be returning.
