Demand for the Steam Controller has been incredibly high since it launched on May 4th, and Valve is now implementing a reservation system to combat scalpers. The queue starts on May 8th at 10 AM Pacific Time.
You can now reserve a Steam Controller and will be notified by email when it’s available to buy in your area. You’ll then have 72 hours to complete your purchase. To make sure everyone has a chance to get one, we’re currently limiting orders to one controller per person.
Just a heads-up about getting one of these controllers: you need to have a clean Steam account – no bans or anything like that. Also, I had to have bought something from the Steam Store before April 27th, 2026, to qualify. Oh, and if you’ve already snagged a controller from the store previously, you’re out of luck. Good news though, they’re starting to ship in Canada and the US next week, and the rest of us in Europe, the UK, and Australia should get ours in the weeks after that!
