Tatiana Maslany Talks About Her “Open-Ended” MCU Future as She-Hulk

Tatiana Maslany, who played Jennifer Walters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, hasn’t appeared as the character since the conclusion of the series. She’s now talking about what it would require to reprise her role as the Hulk’s cousin and return to the superhero world.

Tatiana Maslany, in a recent interview, talked about the possibility of She-Hulk returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She emphasized that Jessica Gao, the creator of the She-Hulk series, would be key to any future appearances, and expressed a desire for storylines that address current real-world issues.

When I think about where She-Hulk goes from here, it really feels like anything could happen. Honestly, Jessica Gao – the showrunner – is the best person to ask. She just gets that character and the show’s vibe. But if we do see more She-Hulk, I think it’d have to address what’s going on in the world right now. That’s really her superpower, isn’t it? Pointing out the absurdities of modern life.

She-Hulk’s MCU Future Is “Open-Ended”

It appears Marvel Studios doesn’t have any immediate plans for future She-Hulk projects, according to comments from Tatiana Maslany. This comes just a few months after she had to address some misunderstandings about what she previously said regarding the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series.

In 2024, she stated she didn’t believe a certain project would happen, explaining that they likely overspent their budget and Disney turned the idea down. These comments sparked further speculation, particularly after her appearance on the Comedy Bang! Bang! podcast.

Tatiana Maslany has confirmed she turned down the opportunity to reprise her role as She-Hulk for future Disney projects. She explained she declined because she had just finished playing the character and was upset about being cut from the movie Deadpool & Wolverine. Maslany expressed her frustration, jokingly referring to her stance as ‘woke feminist stuff’ and sarcastically questioning why a woman was even considered for the role. Disney had approached her about appearing in a large-scale film similar to Doomsday or Avengers, but she ultimately said no and is now publicly confirming her decision.

After some discussion on a comedy podcast about her relationship with Marvel, people wondered if Maslany was being honest about what was happening. She was then asked to explain things in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in February.

“You’ll never know,” she said. “You’ll never know. I don’t know. Do you know? I don’t know.”

I was really intrigued by what she had to say when asked about where She-Hulk is headed in the MCU. She pointed out that She-Hulk has a rich history, with stories spanning decades and still being created, and that’s what makes the character so promising. It definitely got me even more excited for what’s to come!

Tatiana Maslany’s Future in the MCU Remains Unclear

Charlie Cox made an appearance as Daredevil (Matt Murdock) in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, sparking speculation that Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk might return the favor and appear in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again. Cox had previously talked about both his role in that series and the possibility of Maslany appearing as well.

Tatiana Maslany, who plays She-Hulk, found the reaction to a specific scene amusing. She explained that the ‘Walk of Shame’ moment – where her character walks across a green screen carrying her shoes – was added very late in the process. It’s proven to be divisive, with some viewers loving it and others disliking it.

As a fan, I think if you just dropped my Daredevil – the version from my show – into She-Hulk, he’d come across as way too intense and become the punchline of every scene. He really needed to adjust to fit the show’s vibe. Luckily, the comics actually back this up! There are tons of storylines where Daredevil is a lot lighter, funnier, and doesn’t take himself so seriously, so we had a good foundation to work with.

Charlie Cox hinted that She-Hulk might appear in Daredevil: Born Again, calling it a “fun opportunity.” He also suggested he’d like to see Daredevil return the favor and appear in a She-Hulk project at some point.

She-Hulk Attorney at Law is streaming now on Disney+.
