In the realm of “The Boys“, life is far from gentle or safe. Dangers lurk in every nook, and the so-called heroes seldom act out of compassion. The narrative unfolds when Hughie Campbell witnesses his girlfriend, Robin, perish due to a Super’s negligence, and encounters Billy Butcher, who discloses the dark truth about these superhumans. However, their mission to retaliate against Vought International, the corporation responsible for creating and promoting Supers, begins to seem unattainable when they comprehend the sheer number of villains determined to silence them.
In the series The Boys, the antagonists deviate from typical comic book characters as they genuinely perceive themselves as the ‘good guys’. However, beneath this facade lies a terrifying truth: they are ruthless beasts who will go to any length, including harming or eliminating those dear to them, to attain their objectives.
10) Billy Butcher
Although Billy Butcher heads the main group, he often undermines his team and at times betrays them – even leaving his wife’s son behind for a while. His pursuit to eliminate Homelander may ultimately lead to his own demise, yet his actions do little to endear him to others before that point.
9) The Deep
In the series “The Boys”, The Deep initially reveals his true character by exploiting Starlight, the newest recruit of The Seven. Subsequently, he excessively fawns over Homelander, yet never receives any favor in return. Despite this, his abilities continue to pose a threat, particularly when he’s near a large body of water.
8) Ashley Barrett
Initially in the Prime Video series, Ashley Barrett holds a position within Vought, though she’s not a key player. Through a series of missteps, she manages to climb the corporate ladder and eventually takes the CEO seat, finding herself serving under Homelander. Despite lacking superpowers until the end of Season 4, Ashley’s combative nature and survival instincts make her a potential threat to those around her.
7) Black Noir
It’s challenging to gauge Black Noir’s feelings since his face is perpetually hidden behind a mask. However, his inability to show emotions doesn’t make him any less formidable as a villain. He boasts incredible resilience and supernatural strength, casually tossing around members of The Boys with ease. The only one capable of defeating him is Homelander, who ultimately kills him during Season 3.
6) A-Train
Instead of being as swift as DC’s The Flash or Marvel’s Quicksilver, A-Train is far more menacing. He misuses his abilities and crosses a line when he takes the life of Robin. This sparks Hughie to pursue him, resulting in multiple confrontations between the two characters. In Season 4, A-Train acknowledges his mistakes, but it will be challenging for others to pardon him for his past actions.
5) Stan Edgar
As a film enthusiast, I can hardly find a character on “The Boys” who dares challenge Homelander, given his immense power as the supreme Superhero. However, Stan Edgar doesn’t seem to be bothered by power; instead, he cherishes influence. When he sits at the helm of Vought, he leaves no stone unturned in crushing his adversaries, and even when he lands behind bars, his malevolent demeanor persists unchanged.
4) Victoria Neuman
The likeness between Edgar and his adoptive daughter Victoria Neuma is striking, as she often exhibits behavior that’s just as troublesome. Her unique abilities enable her to disintegrate people’s heads, a habit she seems to practice quite frequently on her journey towards becoming the Vice President of the United States. The members of The Boys must always stay vigilant, for they never know when Neuman might decide to eliminate them.
3) Soldier Boy
In Russian confines, The Boys encounter Soldier Boy, and they choose to employ him to overpower Homelander. However, they remain oblivious to the fact that they are essentially releasing another significant antagonist upon the globe. Soldier Boy is a scoundrel who mistreats most people in a contemptuous manner. At the close of Season 3, he is once more frozen, but his return is imminent in Season 5, further escalating his tally of victims.
2) Stormfront
In the world of “The Boys,” I’m one who finds Stormfront remarkably similar to Soldier Boy in many ways, both being villains with a racist bent, ready to take lives without remorse. However, what sets her apart on this list is her unapologetic Nazi ideology. She aspires to reshape the world according to her vision, a vision that includes the elimination of countless individuals. Even Homelander, notorious for his ruthless nature, draws the line at such extremes. Truly, a world without Stormfront is a safer and more just place in the series.
1) Homelander
There’s no one quite as wicked as Homelander. Predicting his actions is like trying to catch smoke, and they often result in gruesome acts against innocent people. He’ll go to any length to maintain his position of power, especially now that he’s at the helm of the U.S. government. The Boys are gearing up for their last strike, and it seems Homelander will stop at nothing to prevent it. Even if he meets his end in the series, no other villain may ever surpass him in infamy.
