Disney Plus announced today that a new documentary about Oasis is coming out this year. The film will include the first interviews with Noel and Liam Gallagher together in over 25 years, which is exciting news for fans.
Although we don’t know the official name yet, fans will be thrilled with this news, especially since the duo had such a successful tour last year.
This highly anticipated documentary will have a special debut in IMAX and select cinemas around the world starting September 11th, for a limited engagement. It will then become available on Disney Plus later in the year.

Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, is also creating this new documentary. Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, known for their work on other projects, will direct. The film promises to be a special experience for fans, with exclusive access and footage never shown before.

Okay, so this documentary follows Liam and Noel Gallagher as they hit the road for Oasis Live ’25 – basically, the reunion tour everyone’s been waiting for. It looks like it’s going to be a huge rock ‘n’ roll comeback, and I’m already excited to see how it all unfolds. As a big fan, I’ve been hoping for this for years!
This film is a feel-good celebration of what many consider the biggest concert of 2025, showing the band and their fans’ experiences around the globe. It offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look, including rehearsals, backstage moments, and performances, plus the first interviews with Noel and Liam Gallagher together in over 25 years.
In addition to documenting the band’s hugely successful world tour, the film delves into the deep emotional connection fans have with their music and how it resonates across cultures and generations.
Steven Knight shared his excitement about the documentary, saying he’s eager for audiences to experience it. He feels the film perfectly reflects a significant cultural moment and truly showcases the talent and humor of two remarkable individuals.
I set out to tell the story of the band and its members, but equally important, the story of the fans whose lives were deeply affected – and sometimes transformed – by their music. It’s a story about how music and songwriting can bring people together across generations, cultures, and countries, offering a sense of hope even when things feel difficult and divisive.
Steven Knight’s recent projects include the series Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, A Thousand Blows, and House of Guinness. He’s also writing the script for the upcoming James Bond movie.
I have a feeling this new project will be another fantastic addition to what’s already an incredible career for Knight. He’s so sought-after in television and film right now, and I’m confident this Oasis documentary will be just as amazing as everything else he does.
Eric Schrier, a leader at the streaming service, also stated that projects like this don’t come along very often.
This film tells a personal story about making amends, the impact of music, and the legendary band Oasis. We’re thrilled to share this incredible movie in theaters and with viewers on Disney+ worldwide.
