Scooby-Doo: Canned Animated Movie Footage Leaks Online

During David Zaslav’s leadership at Warner Bros Discovery, one topic sparking much debate is their move to abandon certain significant projects for financial tax benefits. For instance, while the DC film “Batgirl” was completely scrapped even after wrapping up production, “Coyote Vs. Acme” narrowly escaped cancellation thanks to a deal between WB and Ketchup Entertainment. Another potential unseen Warner Bros production is “Scoob!: Holiday Haunt,” a computer-generated film centered around Mystery Inc’s team members. Remarkably, snippets from the shelved movie have surfaced online, offering Scooby-Doo enthusiasts a glimpse into what the movie might have resembled.

Despite the movie’s uncertain release, Michael Kurinsky, the director of “Holiday Haunt”, shared insights about the film in 2022. In an interview with Variety, Kurinsky revealed that the story would revolve around Scooby-Doo’s first Christmas adventure with his detective pals. The gang heads to a holiday-themed resort owned by Fred’s uncle, and as usual in every “Scooby-Doo” episode, they stumble upon a mystery. With the same premise, the film would employ CG animation to create another exciting chapter for Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Fred, Velma, and Daphne, much like the 2020’s “Scoob!”.

The Holiday Haunt That Never Was

In 2023, we at egmr.ru had the opportunity to chat with Ming-Na Wen, the renowned actress who had already voiced her character for “Scoob! Holiday Haunt”. Although her role remains a secret, when asked if she wanted the movie to be released, the “Star Wars/Star Trek” star expressed enthusiasm: “Absolutely. Oh my goodness. Never say never. I’m not involved in the politics of it all. I believe that’s how I stay youthful-looking, but many people put in a lot of effort on this project. The story is fun and it deserves to be shared again.

Although the door may seem shut for Mystery Incorporated, the Holiday Haunt isn’t the final adventure for the Mystery Machine. In fact, Cartoon Network is currently developing a fresh Scooby-Doo series called “Go Go Mystery Machine.” This new show will take Scooby and Shaggy to Japan, where they’ll encounter an anime-style world. They’ll be meeting up with their uncle “Daisuke-Doo” and introducing some new characters to help them catch monsters that are more reminiscent of Yokai than any previous creatures they’ve encountered. As of now, Cartoon Network hasn’t specified a release date for the series yet, but it looks like things are looking up for Scooby in the future!
