Jason Statham’s Wildest Action Movie Yet Just Joined Peacock (But It’s Even Crazier Sequel Is Missing)

If you’re craving a fast-paced, action-packed movie, a Jason Statham film is always a good choice. He became a major action star with The Transporter in 2002 and has been known for his intense and exciting roles ever since. Peacock subscribers can now watch one of Statham’s most over-the-top action movies, though finding the next installment might take a little more digging.

Jason Statham’s famously over-the-top action movie, Crank, is now available on Peacock. The film follows a hitman in Los Angeles who’s been poisoned and must constantly push himself to the limit with dangerous stunts to stay alive. While the original Crank is streaming, its even more chaotic sequel, Crank 2, isn’t currently on Peacock. Crank 2 takes the wild energy of the first film to a new level of absurdity, even featuring a hilariously low-budget monster fight inspired by classic Japanese films. However, you can still watch Crank 2 for free on streaming services like Pluto TV and Philo.

Crank Is a Movie You Need To See To Believe

Describing just how wild the movie Crank is proves difficult. The basic idea – a hitman needs constant adrenaline to survive – is already incredibly strange, and the film delivers on that strangeness with non-stop energy and absurdity. It feels like a 90-minute rush. Throughout the movie, Jason Statham’s character, Chev Chelios, does anything to keep his heart racing, from using a defibrillator on himself to consuming huge amounts of caffeine and getting into constant fights. This chaotic energy is matched by the filmmakers’ unconventional style, using shaky cameras and even rollerblades to create a feeling of constant, frantic movement. Crank is completely off-the-rails and shows that Jason Statham is at his best when fully embracing over-the-top action and humor.

The film is a wild, exciting ride packed with action and is genuinely a lot of fun. While audience scores on Rotten Tomatoes (62% audience score, 17% rating) aren’t the best Statham has ever received, it still ranks among his top 20 highest-rated films. Even if you’re familiar with Crank, its fast pace and pure adrenaline rush make it a movie you’ll want to watch again and again.

What’s New on Peacock?

Peacock is offering a great selection of movies for subscribers this month. They’ve already added dozens of titles, with more on the way. Currently, you can stream films like Cowboys & Aliens, The Day After Tomorrow, Dunkirk, Galaxy Quest, The Mummy series, and Pulp Fiction. Action fans can also enjoy Mechanic: Resurrection starring Jason Statham.
