The highly anticipated Subnautica 2 is almost here! Unknown Worlds Entertainment just dropped a new trailer showing players crash-landing on a brand new planet – and it’s a pretty dramatic entrance. You can watch the gameplay trailer below.
After you get used to the controls, the game settles into a familiar pattern: gather resources with your tools, create improved tools, collect samples, and then study them in your lab. The big mystery this time around is that enormous tree you saw in the trailer – you’re told to stay away, so of course you’ll want to investigate it!
I’m so excited that Subnautica 2 will let up to four of us play together! It sounds amazing, especially when you’re exploring underwater in a vehicle – they’ve added extra seats and even things to hang onto! Don’t worry though, you can still play the whole game by yourself if you want, but I think having friends along will make the experience even more intense and fun.
Subnautica 2 will be available in early access on PC and Xbox Series X/S starting May 14th. It will be included with Xbox Game Pass from day one. The developers, Unknown Worlds, have announced that this new installment will feature even more diverse environments, creatures, and massive Leviathans compared to the original Subnautica’s early access release.
