
While the Fast Saga’s theatrical run is coming to a close, the world of Fast and Furious is expanding to television. After the release of Fast X in 2023, it was uncertain how many more movies would be made to finish the story – some suggested one, others two. Now, it’s confirmed the saga will conclude with Fast Forever in 2028, a fitting title considering the franchise is now also heading to TV.
As a huge fan of the Fast & Furious franchise, I was really excited to hear the news at the NBCUniversal Upfronts! Jimmy Fallon had Vin Diesel on stage, and Vin announced they’re expanding the universe onto Peacock with four new shows. Apparently, we’re going to get even more Fast & Furious content, which is amazing! Vin’s going to be an executive producer, and while it’s not confirmed yet, he hinted that he might reprise his role as Dom Toretto too, because he said fans are really wanting to see more of the original characters. Fingers crossed!
Over the past ten years, we’ve heard from fans who want to see more of our established characters and their stories. They’ve also been eager for us to create TV series like the ones Vin Diesel has done. I needed to be sure the timing and leadership were right, and that happened when Donna Langley took charge. She understands how important it is to stay true to the characters, appeal to a global audience, and maintain the family feel that defines our franchise. I’m excited to announce today that Peacock will be launching four new shows based in the Fast and Furious universe.
