Harry Potter fans have a lot to look forward to in 2026, including a new series on HBO and a nostalgic rewatch podcast. But the magic begins much sooner! Audible will release the final full-cast audio edition of J.K. Rowling’s beloved series on May 12th, with the seventh and final book, The Deathly Hallows, available exclusively through Audible.
To mark the launch of the full-cast audio edition of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, we’ve partnered with Audible to share a special sneak peek. The clip, which is over two minutes long, revisits the Battle of Hogwarts, where Harry, Ron, and Hermione try to destroy Voldemort’s remaining Horcruxes while he attacks the school with his forces. Fans will also hear something missing from the original films – Peeves the Poltergeist helping the students and staff fight the Death Eaters, mischievously dropping exploding pods on their heads! Audible’s Harry Potter Full-Cast Audio Series is Perfect For Fans Awaiting the Reboot
The upcoming HBO reboot of Harry Potter will differ from the books in some ways, but it aims to be a more faithful adaptation than the popular films. However, the most accurate adaptation remains the full-cast audio series from Audible, which featured a talented ensemble reading J.K. Rowling’s original text without any of the changes or additions made in later years. Narrated by Cush Jumbo, this series offers a uniquely immersive experience, distinct from the Stephen Fry-narrated audiobooks (which still hold their own appeal).
The new Harry Potter reboot features a talented cast alongside its young leads – Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker-Francis as Harry, Ron, and Hermione. The adult roles are filled by impressive actors, including Matthew MacFadyen as Voldemort, Hugh Laurie as Albus Dumbledore, and Riz Ahmed as Severus Snape. Kit Harington shines as Gilderoy Lockhart, while Keira Knightley surprises as Dolores Umbridge, and Mark Addy (known from Game of Thrones) plays Rubeus Hagrid. The film also includes appearances from James McAvoy, Iwan Rheon, Simon Pegg, and Indira Varma, among others. The excellent casting choices have created a fresh and beloved ensemble that fans will undoubtedly compare to the original films.
The audiobook of The Deathly Hallows is a fantastic way to experience the thrilling conclusion to the Harry Potter series. The voice acting is superb, especially from the actors playing Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and really brings the story to life. The emotional impact of the Battle of Hogwarts is just as powerful as when reading the books or watching the films. Any Harry Potter fan should definitely listen to this.
