Kayla Jade is feeling less than euphoric about Euphoria.
An online content creator who also works as a sex worker recently discussed Sydney Sweeney’s storyline on the third season of the HBO show. In the series, Sweeney’s character, Cassie, turns to OnlyFans to cover debts accumulated by her husband, Nate (Jacob Elordi).
Jade recently shared on TikTok that she doesn’t quite grasp the mixed reactions to sex work depicted in shows like Euphoria. She feels it’s positive when these characters are portrayed as fully developed people, and their job is just one part of who they are.
As someone who’s spent a lot of time looking at how media portrays sensitive topics, I was really struck by the depiction of Cassie on Euphoria. Honestly, the way they showed her lacking boundaries and seemingly willing to do anything for money felt problematic. It unfortunately plays into harmful stereotypes about sex work and reinforces negative views, which is something we should actively be working against.
In one episode, Sweeney’s character participated in a photoshoot dressed as a dog, and later in another shoot wearing a sheer dress and a pacifier. However, as Jade pointed out, she and other sex workers would never support or promote that kind of portrayal.
Honestly, seeing that video, I think most of us would’ve told him exactly where to go and probably reported him too. But you know what? It’s actually made our community really good at spotting those kinds of people right away. We’re all much more aware now, and we can identify someone with bad intentions pretty quickly.
Starting and maintaining a business as a sex worker, like Jade has, is incredibly challenging. She’s faced setbacks, even having to recreate her online profiles after they were removed.

She added that large production companies can make money from harmful and exploitative portrayals of sex work, without facing any of the real dangers sex workers experience. She expressed frustration that the show focuses heavily on sex workers, but does so in a way that strips them of their humanity.
Jade wasn’t the only one who disliked the show’s storyline. OnlyFans content creator Sydney Leathers also criticized it, specifically Cassie’s choice to dress like a baby.
She told Variety in an interview on May 10th that the portrayal felt over-the-top and unrealistic. She was particularly frustrated by scenes showing the character doing things that would violate OnlyFans’ policies – like dressing as a baby – because payment processors have strict and increasingly stringent rules about acceptable content.

I’ve been following Sydney Sweeney’s work, and even though she hasn’t directly responded to any criticism about her character, she’s talked about how much she’s enjoyed the acting challenges. The most recent one was amazing – they literally turned Cassie into a giant monster, like a female Godzilla! It was on the May 10th episode, and they built these incredible miniature sets of Los Angeles for her to stomp through. It was such a wild and creative scene, and she really committed to it.
In a behind-the-scenes video posted to X on May 12th, Sweeney described the ‘Cassie-zilla’ scene as the most exciting thing she’d worked on. She was amazed by the level of detail, noting the inclusion of trees, cars, and buildings that appeared enormous relative to her size.
Although Sydney Sweeney plays a character named Cassie who has a fictional OnlyFans account, let’s take a look at the real celebrities who have actually joined the platform.

To prepare for her role in the film Margo’s Got Money Troubles, the actress signed up for OnlyFans. The movie is about a young woman who leaves college and starts using the platform to earn money to care for her baby.
In March 2026, she told People magazine that they had created an account for the writers’ room simply to test out how the website worked.

It’s time to celebrate! A former Nickelodeon star started an OnlyFans account in 2025, but there’s a surprising twist.
She explained on Instagram Stories that she joined OnlyFans simply to connect with her followers through direct messages, and she assured everyone she wouldn’t be sharing any explicit content.

According to Creators Inc. CEO Andy Bachman, the actress known for American Pie earned over a million dollars in her first week on the platform when she joined in April 2026.
But money wasn’t the reason why Shannon joined OnlyFans.
After years in Hollywood where others dictated her career path, she’s excited to take control and show a different side of herself. She told People that this next phase is about connecting with her fans and embracing a more confident and alluring image they haven’t seen before.

The actor known for their role in Harry Potter shared in March 2025 that they had joined the platform to create content focused on very specific interests, and explicitly not of a sexual nature.
Okay, so Jessie basically confessed on her podcast, Before We Break Up Again, that this whole thing is totally for people who are, well, into hair. And honestly? I’m living for it! She said she’s seeing it as a really empowering moment because she’s always played the ‘good girl’ and now she’s just…breaking free! She’s doing something completely unexpected, a little strange, a little…kinky, even! And she’s asking, ‘Why shouldn’t I?’ It’s amazing! I’ve always known she had a wild side, and now she’s finally letting it out. I’m obsessed!

Denise Richards, known from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, joined OnlyFans in 2022 after her daughter, Sami Sheen, began posting on the platform. Sami, whose father is Charlie Sheen, had already created her own account on the subscription service, which is popular for adult content.
My daughter faced a lot of criticism after creating the account,” she explained to KTLA. “I knew about OnlyFans, but I didn’t really understand what it was. Once I learned more, I realized the platform combined the best features of all other social media sites. The biggest difference is that creators own their content, unlike on other platforms where it can be sold without their permission.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen a lot of people explore different avenues for income and creative expression. One example is Tyler Posey, who you probably know from Teen Wolf. He actually started an OnlyFans account back in late 2020. But, he later shared with TopMob News that, for him, the work ended up being really tough on his mental health – he described it as ‘mentally draining,’ which is a really honest thing to admit.
He explained that being on OnlyFans sometimes felt dehumanizing. He’s really focused on creating content that’s artistic rather than purely sexual, because he doesn’t want to be categorized as someone who just produces pornography. He wants to respect those who do, and instead focus on connecting with his fans through creative work.

Blac Chyna was an early celebrity adopter of OnlyFans, joining in 2020. However, after becoming religious and being baptized, she stopped creating content on the platform three years later.

The My Name Is Earl alum launched her account in May 2026.
She shared with Variety that she’s always embraced change, and sees this as a new opportunity to connect with her fans directly, creatively, and on her own schedule.
I’ve really enjoyed connecting with fans at Comic Cons, and that direct interaction inspired me to explore platforms like OnlyFans.

In 2020, the model revealed she would be creating and sharing exclusive content on the platform. Her OnlyFans page describes her account as a way for fans to get a unique and personal experience.

In August 2020, the actress, known for her work on the Disney Channel, started an account on OnlyFans. She explained that her goal was to challenge the shame and negative attitudes often associated with sex and sex work by being a well-known figure openly involved with it.
Okay, so I was just explaining on X – you know, Twitter – why it’s SO important everyone checks out the site! Honestly, the more people who join and are on there, the better chance we have of finally making things normal and getting rid of all the unfair judgment. It’s everything, really!

Before marrying husband Moses Hacmon in 2021, the YouTuber had a lucrative career on OnlyFans.
After seeing how successful OnlyFans was in 2020, she decided to focus on it exclusively that year, explaining to Polyester magazine that she was simply following where the money was going.
Trisha said she had a really enjoyable summer, earning a lot of money and having a great time. She likely would have kept going, but then she met Moses, and decided it was time to stop.

Kylie Jenner started using the subscription platform in 2020. She told Complex magazine she was thrilled to join a place where people could freely be themselves.

The rapper started an OnlyFans account in August 2020, around the time her popular song “WAP” was released. She shared exclusive content on the platform, including behind-the-scenes looks at the “WAP” music video and glimpses into her everyday life.

Former Real Housewives of New York star unexpectedly joined a website in 2020, but she later removed her account.

Showing support for her fellow cast member on The Real Housewives of New York, Morgan announced she was joining OnlyFans in July 2020. To celebrate the launch, she offered a free membership to new subscribers for the first week.

In 2020, the Youtuber launched an unedited OnlyFans account, announcing on X (formerly Twitter) simply, “TANA UNCENSORED IS FINALLY HERE AND THAT’S ALL IMA SAY.”

The “Smile” singer launched an OnlyFans account for her feet in 2024.

I was honestly shocked when Cody Simpson, you know, the guy who sang “Say You’re Just a Friend,” joined OnlyFans back in 2020! His profile description was pretty direct – he basically invited people to message him if they wanted to see more exclusive content. It was a surprising move, to say the least!

The rapper known for “Rack City” began using OnlyFans in 2020, but he eventually shut down that account to create his own platform called Myystar, which is similar to OnlyFans and allows creators to share content with subscribers.
