Al Roker’s Daughter Leila Marries Sylvain Gricourt in France Wedding

Al Roker has a new family member in his neck of the woods.

Today show host Al Roker announced that his daughter, Leila Roker, 27, recently married Sylvain Gricourt in Europe. He also explained how an outbreak of hantavirus on the MV Hondius cruise ship delayed his trip home.

Al explained on a morning show May 12th that he was returning from Europe after his daughter’s wedding when the CDC requested people get tested voluntarily. He noted that the CDC didn’t specify what they were testing for, leading him to believe it was just a general precaution.

Just weeks before the wedding, the 71-year-old, who is also a father to 23-year-old Nick Roker and 37-year-old Courtney (from his marriage to the late Alice Bell), shared that his daughter Leila’s wedding felt like a present to his current wife—though he admitted it wasn’t quite that simple.

My daughter, Leila, is getting married right before Mother’s Day – actually, that weekend!,” he shared in an interview on May 1st. “So, I suppose the wedding is her Mother’s Day gift.”

Leila, a PR specialist, isn’t just celebrating her marriage to Sylvain with this event. Last year, Leila’s mother, Deborah, mentioned they’d already had a small wedding in Paris and were planning a much larger, more extravagant celebration in the U.S.

I always love hearing a good love story! I recently learned about Leila and Sylvain, who first connected back in 2018. Leila was studying abroad in Paris at the time, and she met Sylvain, who’s originally from France. They dated for years, and he finally proposed to her in beautiful Italy back in March of 2025 – so romantic!

Leila shared on Instagram that eight years ago, she moved to Paris, and seven years ago, she met the love of her life and her best friend. Just two days ago, her partner surprised her with a trip to Venice and proposed!

After the news was shared, Al expressed his joy on Instagram, saying he was thrilled for the couple and excited to help them plan their future together.
