Silent Hill 2 Remake Surpasses 6 Million Players

Following the positive reception of Silent Hill f, Konami announced another achievement for the series: Silent Hill 2 Remake has reached six million players as of April 24th. This number includes both those who purchased the game and those who played it through subscription services like PlayStation Plus Extra.

The game recently reached a major milestone with over five million players, proving its continued popularity. Originally released for PlayStation 5 and PC in October 2024, and later for Xbox Series X/S in 2025, this is a remake of the beloved 2001 survival horror game. The story centers around James Sunderland, who receives a mysterious letter from his late wife asking him to meet in Silent Hill. Of course, things quickly become terrifying.

Though Silent Hill 2 Remake tells the same story as the original, the way you play has been completely redesigned. It now uses an over-the-shoulder camera angle, and the close-up fighting feels more intense. Familiar areas have been expanded with more secrets to find, and some locations, like Toluca Prison, have been dramatically changed – and many players find them even scarier now.
