The anime film Chainsaw Man: The Reze Arc was a major hit in 2025, and rightfully so. It beautifully told the heartbreaking story of Denji and Reze’s impossible love, showcasing Studio MAPPA at its best and highlighting what makes the action-packed Chainsaw Man series so popular. Although a live-action series from Netflix seems unlikely, Japan has already created its own live-action version. However, the upcoming continuation of Denji’s story has hit a snag, as a significant change is planned for the next stage of the production, set to debut later this year.
Yutaka Nakasone, who was originally cast as Denji in Chainsaw Man The Stage: Reze Arc, will no longer be able to perform due to health concerns and a need for rest. The production team announced their apologies for any disappointment this may cause and confirmed that Taisei Nakamoto will take over the role for all performances. The show will continue as scheduled with Nakamoto in the part.
Revving Up The Chainsaw

After the popular first season of Chainsaw Man, Studio MAPPA quickly announced more adventures for Denji and his friends. The next installment will be Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc, but details are still scarce. Fans are eager to know if this will be a longer movie or a complete new season of episodes. Many are also wondering if a traditional second season will happen at all, or if future Chainsaw Man content will only be released as films.
Earlier this year, the creator of Chainsaw Man, Tatsuki Fujimoto, surprised fans by finishing the manga. This ending wrapped up Denji’s story in the second part of the series. But don’t worry, anime fans! The anime is still likely years away from catching up, meaning there’s plenty more story to tell. While the first season and movie featured incredible fights, the anime hasn’t even begun to show everything the Chainsaw Devil will face if it continues to follow the manga.
