I was so excited when Subnautica 2 finally came out – I absolutely loved the first one! Now, as a Game Pass subscriber, my first question was: is it included? I really hope I can dive back into that underwater world without having to buy it separately!

Our first game was very successful, and early signs suggest the sequel will be just as popular.

When you’re already paying for a game subscription, it can be tough to feel like buying a new game is worth the extra cost.

Is Subnautica 2 on Xbox Game Pass?

Yes, Subnautica 2 is on Xbox Game Pass.

The game is available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and the much cheaper PC Game Pass.

If you have both an Xbox and a PC, playing Subnautica 2 will likely be most affordable on your PC.

Just so you know, this game isn’t available on Xbox One. You can play it on Xbox Series X/S, PC, or through cloud gaming, no matter your Game Pass subscription.

It’s unexpected to find Subnautica 2 available on Xbox Game Pass so soon after it entered Early Access.

Most games released in Early Access start on PC and stay there until they’re fully finished. They usually become available on consoles, often through services like Xbox Game Pass, when the complete game is launched.

Fortunately, the developers at Unknown Worlds and publisher Krafton have decided not to use that system, meaning everyone with Game Pass can play Subnautica 2 immediately.

Even though the game is selling very well on Steam, adding it to Xbox Game Pass could potentially reduce overall sales over time.
