RHOC Star Shannon Beador Mourns Death of Dog Archie After Brain Cancer

The Real Housewives fandom is grieving the loss of a four-legged fan favorite.

Shannon Beador, known from The Real Housewives of Orange County, shared the sad news that her 10-year-old golden retriever, Archie, has passed away. This comes just weeks after Archie was diagnosed with brain cancer.

My heart is completely broken. We lost our sweet Archie yesterday, and my daughters and I are just devastated. He wasn’t just a pet for the last ten years; he was my constant companion, my protector, my best friend, and honestly, the most reliable ‘man’ in my life. It’s hard to imagine life without him.

She continued, explaining that she’d experienced a lot of ups and downs in life, but through it all, Archie was a constant source of support. He loved her consistently, without ever judging, and offered unwavering loyalty and unconditional affection.

The 62-year-old was also thankful that fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County got to meet Archie—who won Best Animal Appearance at the 2025 Bravos awards during BravoCon in November—over the past decade.

She expressed her gratitude that so many fans watched Archie throughout his life. Those who knew him remembered his kind heart and gentle spirit. He was deeply loved and truly felt that affection, even receiving the Best Appearance award at BravoCon.

Shannon shared that Archie spent his final day enjoying the things he loved most – playing in the ocean, relaxing in the park, and, of course, eating plenty of food.

The reality star, who adopted a golden retriever named Troy last year, shared that one of the kindest things her dog Archie ever did was introduce Troy into their family, ensuring they wouldn’t be lonely.

It’s so hard, I keep expecting to see him just waking up from a nap. But Archie… he’s gone now, and I know he’s finally at peace. I picture him swimming and running, playing fetch without any pain, and it breaks my heart but also brings me a little comfort. Ten years wasn’t nearly enough with the most amazing companion anyone could ever ask for, and my girls and I feel so unbelievably lucky to have had him in our lives.

Following the news of Shannon’s passing, many friends and fans shared their condolences. Among them was Tamra Judge, her former best friend and longtime colleague, who expressed her love in the comments.

Shannon had previously shared Archie’s diagnosis after he’d suffered from several seizures.

Archie has been diagnosed with brain cancer after suffering several seizures, his mother shared on Instagram on May 5th. She expressed deep sadness, saying Archie is incredibly loved by her daughters and her, and that they will do everything possible to support him through this difficult battle.
