Ghost of Yōtei: Legends’ Raid is the “Last Major Planned Update,” Says Sucker Punch

Sucker Punch launched the raid for Ghost of Yōtei: Legends over a month ago, letting players battle Lord Saito and the Dragon. A few weeks later, they added matchmaking, a very difficult ‘Hell Mode’, and the ability to retire fully upgraded gear. As for future updates to the online co-op mode, there aren’t any plans for much else at this time.

In a recent PlayStation Blog post, the developers explained that the new raid is their final major update for the Legends mode. It concludes the storyline of the Yōtei Six within that mode, and they’ve been thrilled with the positive response and continued enjoyment from players. They expressed gratitude for the community’s support and engagement.

The team says this update is currently their last planned release, but they might create more content in the future if players want it. While major updates are on hold, they’ll likely continue to make smaller changes like balance adjustments and fix bugs. However, nothing is certain at this point.

As a big fan of Ghost of Tsushima’s Legends mode, I was a little bummed to see it kinda fade out. It launched back in October 2020 and actually got some cool updates for a while, up until early 2022. They added things like a way to customize Platinum Survival runs, tweaked how crafting worked, and even introduced a Rivals Mode. It wasn’t a ton of new stuff, but it felt like it had a good run, so it’s a bit disappointing to see it end.

While Yōtei: Legends didn’t become a huge hit, or maybe Sucker Punch is focusing on their next game, it’s a good idea to check it out before fewer people are playing.
