Dedicated players of ARC Raiders have consistently asked for improvements to the endgame, specifically the expeditions and the blueprints they need to earn again after each server reset. While expeditions and blueprints keep many players engaged even after completing the main quests, repeatedly earning them – sometimes by replaying the same challenging maps – isn’t a fun or sustainable long-term activity.
On ARC Raiders‘ 2026-27 plans, we can expect some adjustments to these mechanics.
Rob Keyes from ScreenRant spoke with Aleksander Grøndal, Executive Producer of Embark Studios’ ARC Raiders, about whether players will be able to regain lost blueprints after intentionally resetting their progress with expeditions. Grøndal confirmed that they are exploring options, but wouldn’t share any details at this time. While not a direct answer, it does suggest that the developers are considering this feature.
Blueprints are essential because they let you make any gear you’ve unlocked, as long as you have the necessary materials. Unfortunately, when you start a new expedition, you currently lose everything – including all your blueprints, items, skills, and progress.
Players have consistently asked for a change to how blueprints work with expeditions since the game launched. Finding all the blueprints in ARC Raiders usually takes a lot longer than getting ready for an expedition itself. Because of this, many players decide not to participate in expeditions at all – they feel it’s simply not worth the effort to lose all their progress and start collecting blueprints from scratch.
According to Grøndal at Embark Studios, they heavily consider what players say when making choices about the game. It appears they’re finally addressing the frequent complaints about blueprints being lost.
Expeditions were recently updated to reward players based on their damage output, rather than how many resources they have. The team is taking a more cautious approach to reworking blueprints, as the random nature of blueprint drops currently allows for diverse gameplay experiences across expeditions. According to Grøndal, the development team’s main goal is to create the best possible game, continually improving successful elements and addressing areas that need improvement.
The goal is to refine existing blueprints, not replace them. While blueprints function well and give veteran players something to strive for, they currently might prevent players from fully enjoying other aspects of ARC Raiders. Embark Studios prioritizes variety – like discovering new blueprints on expeditions – and wants to create challenges that encourage players to think in new ways, as explained by Grøndal: “We’re constantly discussing how to create interesting challenges that invite players to think and strategize differently than they’re used to.”
To keep things fresh, the game is focusing on adding new content. This includes several new maps for ARC Raiders, as well as a steady stream of new weapons, tools, and enemies. Because of this focus on new experiences, updates to expedition blueprints haven’t been prioritized. While improving how endgame content stays active is an option, the developers believe changes like adjusting team sizes would have a bigger impact. Embark has been exploring these kinds of changes as well.
According to Grøndal, players can look forward to exciting new content for ARC Raiders in the coming months and beyond, including significant updates to blueprints and expeditions. As the game matures, keeping players engaged becomes increasingly important, and feedback about the endgame experience has been a major focus. Embark Studios is responding to the most common criticisms of ARC Raiders‘ endgame, but the specific details of how expeditions and blueprints will be improved are still unknown.
