Where Winds Meet’s Imperial Palace is “Comparable to Kaifeng” With 3000 NPCs, Out in Late May

Everstone Studio has released a significant update for Where Winds Meet called the Hexi Expansion, which includes new bosses, areas to explore, and story missions. And they’re not stopping there! The Imperial Palace expansion, first revealed at The Game Awards last December, will be available in late May, according to the latest Goose News update.

Players can look forward to a huge game world! The Imperial Palace itself covers over a million square meters – it’s as large as the city of Kaifeng, according to the developers, and is populated by 3,000 characters. The game will feature changing seasons like spring and winter, fast-paced chases through the palace with parkour moves, and even silly competitions like slap fights.

This summer, we’re adding Gauntlets – a brand new weapon type – along with homesteads in Qinghe (coming in late June) and animal companions. A new co-op mode called Martial Path Domain is also on its way, designed for five-player teams and featuring multiple challenging floors. Later, in the second half of 2026, the Perception Forest will get a new treasure-hunting map mode set in ruins and dark alleys.

The upcoming Imperial Palace expansion looks set to be a huge addition to the game, with players discovering different groups and uncovering secrets. We’ll share more information, including when it will be released, in the next few weeks.
