Nine Dots Studios is bringing players back to the intriguing world of Aurai with Outward 2, and the early access version will be available soon! PC players can jump in starting July 7th, and a new trailer demonstrates the game runs well even on less powerful computers.
It might sound a bit basic, but the performance is impressive, even at a resolution of 1280×720 and 30 frames per second. The lowest quality setting is jokingly called “Potato,” but the fact that it only needs an older AMD FX 6300 processor, a GeForce GTX 750 Ti graphics card, and 8 GB of RAM is a significant achievement these days.
If you want to play with the highest settings at 4K resolution and a smooth 60+ frames per second, you’ll need a Ryzen 7 7700 processor, an RTX 4080 graphics card, and 32 GB of RAM. For a good experience at 1440p resolution and 60 FPS with at least medium settings, a Ryzen 5 5600X, 16 GB of RAM, and an RTX 3060 will do the trick. You can find a complete list of hardware requirements here.
Want to try the game early? You can sign up for the closed beta, happening from May 26th to June 8th. If you participated in the January playtest, you’re already in! Plus, you’ll get to explore a brand new area called La Rescapée.
Despite its name – which translates from French to ‘saved and finally safe’ – this place has a troubled past and is said to be haunted. It’s best to be prepared for anything when you visit.
