Although we didn’t grow up watching the ’90s series that influenced the Toxic Crusaders, we definitely enjoy the nostalgic feel of a classic retro beat-’em-up game.
This game seems to be a throwback to the time of The Simpsons Arcade Game and TMNT: Turtles in Time, yet it skillfully utilizes contemporary technology to create an excitingly chaotic playstyle that resembles those classic coin-ops from yesteryear.

For quite some time now, this project has been under construction by developers at Retroware. However, the wait is almost over as it will be released on 4th December for a price of $24.99. Keep an eye out because wishlisting is likely to start very soon on the PlayStation Store.

Here’s the official blurb:
In this scenario, when wicked Doctor Killemoff strikes, it’s the grotesquely formed, colossal, and powerfully strong team of creatures that is Earth’s final, extraordinary, and hideous beacon of hope against his schemes for worldwide contamination. The most popular heroes from 1991 make their comeback in a cutting-edge, radioactive brawler game for the modern age, offering thrilling action, devastating combos, and an overabundance of toxic waste that you won’t know how to handle!
Seven distinct characters, each with unique abilities and special items, are available for you to select. Furthermore, the game offers a complete four-player cooperative mode.
In reality, what we have here is not the initial video game based on The Toxic Crusaders; instead, it was a spin-off that debuted on the NES, Game Boy, and SEGA Genesis back in 1992.
Are you a lover of the classic Toxic Crusaders animated series in any way? Regardless, are you planning to give the upcoming beat-’em-up game a try? Please keep the comments section free from negativity.
