We recently got a closer look at Horizon Hunters Gathering while playing as Shadow, and we’re really impressed with her abilities and how she fights.
The game features many Machines you’ll recognize, including a Stalker that fights alongside the new character, Shadow. But Shadow is incredibly capable on her own, using swift sword attacks – slashes and thrusts – that easily pierce through even the toughest Machine armor. She quickly defeats groups of Watchers with ranged attacks, preventing them from getting near, and takes down larger enemies like Longlegs and Thunderjaws with impressive ease. It’s a fantastic spectacle to watch.
We’re really interested to see if this character will appear in more of the main story, especially since Hunters Gathering is officially part of the game’s canon. Hopefully, she’ll team up with Aloy and join the next adventure – though it sounds like we’ll be waiting a while for that to happen, if the rumors are true.
You can see her in action during the next playtest for Horizon Hunters Gathering, which will be held on PC and PS5 from May 22nd to 25th.
