Classic Xbox 360, PS3 Game Gets New Upgrade on Modern Consoles

A popular game originally released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 has been updated for today’s consoles. The Xbox 360 and PS3 era launched many successful game series – like Borderlands, BioShock, and Mass Effect – that are still enjoyed today. Now, another game from that generation has received a significant upgrade to its first installment, making it even better than before.

I’m so excited! THQ Nordic just released an updated version of Darksiders: Warmastered Edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. For those who don’t know, Darksiders originally came out in 2011 and it’s an awesome action game where you play as War, one of the Four Horsemen. It was a huge hit back on the Xbox 360 and PS3, and it even got a couple of sequels and a spin-off game! They remastered it in 2016 for PS4 and Xbox One, calling it Warmastered Edition, and now THQ Nordic has made it even better for the newest consoles.

THQ Nordic has updated Darksiders: Warmastered Edition for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S by enhancing its graphics and performance to take advantage of the consoles’ better hardware. However, the gameplay and story remain unchanged – there’s no new content included in this version.

Players on Xbox and PlayStation will have different experiences when upgrading to the newer Xbox Series X/S and PS5 consoles. Xbox users who already own Darksiders: Warmastered Edition will get the upgrade to the new hardware for free. Unfortunately, PlayStation players will need to purchase the PS5 version of Darksiders: Warmastered Edition for $10. The reason for this difference isn’t clear, but Xbox players are getting a better deal.

THQ Nordic revealed last year that a new Darksiders game, Darksiders 4, is being developed. While details are still scarce, we can likely expect to hear more about it soon, possibly in the coming weeks or months.
