Jack Martin wants everyone to know right now what it’s really like to work with Katie Holmes.
He recently shared a behind-the-scenes look at working with the director of Happy Hours, who also wrote and acted in the film, before it premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival in June.
Oh my gosh, Katie is just… unbelievable! I was reading TopMob News – seriously, May 19th, you HAVE to look it up – and Jack was saying the sweetest things about her at the FENDI event in New York. He said she’s incredibly kind, and it’s not just how she treats you, it’s how she treats everyone! Apparently, you can see it in the people she chooses to work with, like it’s this amazing ripple effect of kindness. I KNEW she was special!
He went on to say that the film truly showcased her talent. He also noted that everyone she collaborates with is incredibly kind and giving.
Katie’s former Dawson’s Creek co-star, Joshua Jackson, along with Constance Wu and Mary-Louise Parker, are all in the movie, which tells the story of former lovers who reconnect years later and find a second chance at romance.
Jack shared that the Batman Begins actress remembers everyone’s name and always asks for our input. He described her as incredibly kind and generous, saying he couldn’t ask for a better person to work with and that she truly deserves all of her achievements.
The 27-year-old, who has been dating Lili Reinhart since spring 2023, also shared how much he learned from working with Katie, 47, on set.
He said she inspires people to be confident and authentic in their work. He admitted feeling a bit intimidated before working with her, as she and the entire cast she assembled were incredibly talented.

Jack said he was a little intimidated working with such experienced actors, especially alongside Joshua Jackson. But his co-star encouraged him to be confident, share his own ideas, and put his own unique spin on the project. He really appreciated that and believes it ultimately improved the work.
Katie, known for directing the 2016 film All We Had, revealed her new project in July 2025, expressing her excitement about collaborating with Joshua once more – 23 years after they first worked together on their popular WB show.
She shared on Instagram in July 2025 that working with Josh again after all this time proves how strong their friendship is. She described their new project, HAPPY HOURS, as a heartwarming story filled with people she loves, and expressed her excitement for everyone to see it.
While everyone anticipates seeing Katie and Joshua together in a movie again, here are some other films to look forward to this year.
